When Apologies Aren't Enough Empty
PostSubject: When Apologies Aren't Enough   When Apologies Aren't Enough I_icon_minitimeTue Nov 06, 2012 12:10 am

Weeks had passed and Claire had not managed to build up the courage to see Vanessa again. She couldn't bare to see that pain in Vanessa's eyes, it was literally making Claire sick to her stomach. Just thinking about all the pain that she had caused the doctor, it felt like it was slowly killing Claire inside. The wolf didn't know what to do, how to fix it but she had to, for the sake of their friendship she had to do something.

Being the hopeless romantic that Claire was, she decided to at least attempt to repair some of the damage that way. She bought a dozen long stem roses, and found the necklace that Oliver had made and wrapped it around the stems. Claire wanted her to have it, hoping that maybe just... well she didn't know what it would do but she had to try.

She must had stood outside the nurses station for hours, waiting for the smell of students to leave the wing. Claire had a lot of explaining to do and because of that she didn't want there to be any distractions, she even got Kristine to come in so that Claire could talk with Vanessa with no distractions or excuses.

Finally the time came where Claire had to either own up or give up and the later was not an option. She missed Vanessa, more then she could have ever imagined and she wanted her back, she wanted things fixed.

Pushing the door open to the nurse's station, Claire took in a deep breath and Vanessa's scent came flooding into her. It made Claire want to turn back, but she didn't, she fought the urge to run and made it over to Vanessa's office door and knocked on the frame. "Can we talk?" She asked in a soft tone.

Vanessa had spent the better part of the last week and half avoiding Claire like the plague. Just seeing her made Vanessa's stomach backflip a million times and often lead her to skipping the day and letting poor Kristine manage the entire Nurses station. However, she decided to come in today. She buried herself in paper work and computer filing. It was better than sitting in there mooping.

Vanessa's fingers typed away at the computer the bright screne reflecting off of her glasses that balanced off her nose. A soft tap came to her door frame causing Vanessa to look up slowly and blinked a couple of times. Taking her glasses off she rose from her seat and grabbed her coffee cups. "I'm busy." she said shortly walking pass her into the Nurses station to get more coffee. But she hoenstly wanted something a little stronger to help with the anxiety she was feeling.

She honestly didn't want to see Clair she didn't want to experience the pain the humilation again. "We have nothing to talk about anyway. What happened was an accident and it should have never have happened."

Claire felt her heart sink when Vanessa got up and acted as though the wolf was the worst person on earth. She couldn't blame Vanessa really, but Claire felt like she at least deserved a chance to explain, that's all she really wanted. If Vanessa's cold demeanor wasn't enough, the worlds that came out of the nurse's mouth just felt like a knife being plunged into the wolf's gut. "Don't talk that way, please, just let me explain." She asked as she followed Vanessa, yet kept her distant.

"I never meant... I never meant to hurt you Vanessa, but there are things about me that you know nothing about, but you deserve to know." She was still holding onto the flowers, her fingers played with the wolf charm that hung from the stems. All Claire wanted was a chance to explain, it was a lot to ask for but was something she was desperate for.

"Please, just give me a chance to explain." The wolf had tears forming in her eyes, she couldn't stand losing Vanessa this way. Ten years of being friends should fall apart like this, at least that was how Claire felt. "Please, then if you never want to talk to me again... I'll leave you alone." Those last words hurt worse then anything to come out of her mouth but at the end of the day it was all she could do.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]If there was one thing Vanessa hated more than anything in this world it was being humiliated and being played. Claire was the one person she trusted more in this world that anyone else, at least she did before she was left sitting alone in the woman's apartment. She didn't want to talk, she walked to be left alone and pretend nothing happened. It would better than remembering that night.

Chuckling bitterly she shoved the coffee pot forecfully back in it's holder and turned to her. "Oh yeah, that much is true." she honestly didn't know a lot about Claire, mainly because Claire didn't share. Vanessa's eyes looked down to the flowers and wolf necklace. Taking in a deep breath she sipped her coffee and tapped her foot. "Are those for me?" Vanessa was a sucker for flowers...always had been always would be.

Setting down her coffee cup she reached down and took the flowers from Claire. She didn't smile, though she wanted too she couldn't allow Claire to get off just by giving her flowers and a wolf charm. Leaning back she sat on desk and crossed her legs bringing her nose forward to smell the flowers. "Fine...explain.

PostSubject: Re: When Apologies Aren't Enough   When Apologies Aren't Enough I_icon_minitimeWed Nov 07, 2012 1:02 am

Claire was never this emotional but she was chalking up to the fact that she generally cared about Vanessa and what the woman thought of her. If given the chance, Claire would be truthful about everything, no matter what Vanessa asked. It was scary to think that she would be being completely truthful with Vanessa, but Claire knew that she had to be.

"Yes, they are, there called wolf roses." She spoke as she held out the flowers for Vanessa to take. They looked like a standard red rose, but if one looked carefully the pedals got gradually lighter from the base to the tips.

Claire withdrew her hands once Vanessa took the flowers and again followed the nurse but kept her distance so that way she wasn't getting to much into Vanessa's space.

"Look, I know I messed up, and its been eating away at me, but I've never been good with things like this." She spoke as she leaned against the door and looked to Vanessa just trying to remember to breath and remember that what she was about to tell Vanessa would not be taken seriously.

"Remember when we met, how I just happened to show up when that mugger tried to rob you? I ... I wasn't just a passerby that day, actually as strange as it sounds, I believe we were destined to meet, because... well I could feel you were in trouble." Claire spoke honestly, she even kept good eye contact because if she didn't then she knew that Vanessa could think that this was all just some lie wrapped up to make the woman like her.

"Just like I could feel when you came to the school, I um... actually knew you were here that day and knew that it was only you in the office because I could only smell your scent." She stood up a bit more and brought her hands to the edge of her shirt, in order to show Vanessa something.

"I'm a... unique individual and because of that I have some... abilities, and while some of them are good, others can be dangerous. One of the abilities that I have is I heal, a lot faster and better then most. I know you remember me getting shot, and how you felt bad because you were only a student and my stitches would leave a scar, well... you didn't... it should have, but I healed." Claire spoke and pulled up her shirt up enough where it would show where she had been shot and there was nothing but smooth skin there.

Claire didn't realize it when she looked down but she also had a bit of a belly forming, where it was normally flat and nicely toned. The wolf even turned to show her back where the bullet had gone through and there wasn't a scar there either. Basically Claire was trying to ease Vanessa into the news.

"I'm pretty sure that you have also noticed that I haven't aged at all since we last saw one another... like at all, as a matter of fact I haven't aged since I turned 30, which I am a lot older then that. Alot." she explained as she turned back around and pulled down her shirt.

"Now, I am fully aware that what is going to come out of my mouth is going to sound like I am crazy, and will get my ass kicked by the dean but, well you have a right to know." She spoke as she took a deep breath and steadied her hands that had started to shakes, she wasn't actually used to having to tell people this but Vanessa was human and didn't know that super naturals exist.

"Vanessa, I'm what you would call a supernatural, to be more specific... a werewolf." She finished and waited for the woman's reaction, she hoped that the proof was enough to sort of ease the nurse into the news.

Vanessa waited patiently for Claire to begin her story her nose embedded into the silk petals of the roses. Wolf roses...what a strange name. The look Vanessa gave Claire when she said she messed up spoke volumes of how much she agreed. But she didn't say anything, she didn't trust her voice just yet if she spoke God only knows what she would end up saying.

The doctor nodded her head at Claire's question. Of course she remembered, hell she almost died that night how wouldn't she remember? She had been so scared that she nearly passed out before Claire came to the rescue and spent the next week on her couch. Things were different then, she was different. But not anymore, she wasn't a nervous med student she was a grown woman who knew had been stood up and humiliated far too many times than she would like to admit. A slender brow rose at her words, Vanessa didn't believe in fate, true love, or destiny. It was a bunch of BS that people with no life came up with to make themselves feel better. She was a realist.

"My scent? You could smell me?" That statement would definitely go on her top weirdest things ever said. What person could smell other people. Following scents that was for dogs.

When Claire lifted her shirt Vanessa tilted her head to the side to see no wound but what she found more interesting was the slightly protruding bump called Claire's stomach. Her brow furrowed, no...there was no way. But Claire was in perfect shape. There wasn't a single bit of fat on her and even when she had a big lunch she didn't even have a belly. She couldn't be...could she?

She was so caught up in her examination of Claire's stomach that whatever the woman had said simply went in one ear and out the other. Well that was until she said she was a werewolf. Vanessa sat there stunned for a moment before sliding off the desk and chuckling darkly. "You know, I've been told a lot of things in my time. But that...that definitely has the top spot of complete and utter bullshit." Vanessa threw the flowers at Claire and slipped her lab coat from her shoulders before grabbing her jacket and bag to walk away from her. "You know if you didn't want to see me anymore you could have just said so not come up with some bullshit story about a werewolf. Really? A werewolf? What is Kristine the tooth fairy?

PostSubject: Re: When Apologies Aren't Enough   When Apologies Aren't Enough I_icon_minitimeWed Nov 07, 2012 1:38 am

Claire was more focused on Vanessa, rather then what Vanessa was actually doing. She was trying to be completely honest without completely scaring the living crap out of Vanessa which she could easily do.

A nod was given when Vanessa asked about her scent. "Everyone has a unique scent, that they leave behind, I can track them." She replied, again just being as honest as possible without trying to scare Vanessa.

While Claire had expected a bad reaction, she wasn't expecting the reaction that she got. The flowers being thrown back at her, the words spoken, all of it hurt. Claire set the flowers down in Vanessa's office before she turned and followed her. "Vanessa wait." She called out to her and she came up and well grabbed Vanessa's arm minding her strength.

"I'm not lying to you Vanessa, I am telling you the truth, because you deserve to know what I am, because I want to be with you." She spoke and then let go of Vanessa's arm and stepped back, letting out a growl of frustration because she didn't know how to prove it to Vanessa without putting her in danger.

"Ask Kristine, she's coming down the hall. Her headphones are on so you might startle her." She spoke and tried to make out the song but Claire wasn't really familiar with whoever the redhead was listening too. "I would show you, but I don't want the wolf to hurt you. I don't always have control over it, and if it scratches you, or bites you then, well you'd become like me and I don't want that."

The doctor had had enough for one day, she didn't want to hear anymore. Claire latched on to her arm. It took everything within Vanessa not to slap Claire. She didn't like to be touched, especially when she was mad. Had Claire not embarrassed her to hell and back it wouldn't be problem but right now she didn't want to be anywhere near her. "You're telling me that you're a God damn werewolf Claire. Do you think I'm stupid. There's no such thing as werewolves. This is reality, in reality there's a thing called common sense."

Vanessa peaked her head around the corner of the door to see Kristine walking towards the nurses station. She didn't question how Claire knew that Kristine was there, there were ways for her to know that the little red headed woman was on her way. "I'm not asking anyone anything. This is stupid, foolish and immature. You say you want to be with me but you come up with lies like this? I thought you were better than this."

She was going home, if she had too she'd switch schools or work at a hospital to keep away from Claire. She had imagined a lot of things Claire would say to try and explain herself but werewolves? Honestly! Vanessa knew Claire had a thing for wolves but actually calling her herself one was enough to put her in a looney bin. Vanessa decided she was going to be nun for the rest of her life. Love was too complicated and it hurt too much to handle.

When Apologies Aren't Enough Empty
PostSubject: Re: When Apologies Aren't Enough   When Apologies Aren't Enough I_icon_minitimeWed Nov 07, 2012 3:17 pm

This was sort of frustrating but Claire really couldn't blame Vanessa for not believing her, because it was strange but it was the world that Claire had lived in for 1500 years. She let go of a sigh, as Vanessa continued to insist that the wolf was lying and that hurt because she wasn't lying she was trying to be as truthful as she could be. "Vanessa, I don't know how to prove it to you, but I'll find a way, a way that wont harm you." She spoke honestly because she knew that Vanessa would need the proof if she was ever going to believe the wolf.

Those probably weren't the best words to say, because it wasn't long after those words left her mouth that Kristine came around the corner and got startled by the two of them being right there. That mixed with her timid nature and being rather on edge with all the magic and hellhound stuff that happened lately, she was in fight or flight mode... her reaction this time... fight.

The vampire grabbed the closet thing to her... Vanessa and ended up slamming the woman against the wall barring sharp fangs as she hissed at Vanessa and with her vampiric nature went for Vanessa's neck.

"Kristine No!" Claire growled out and grabbed Kristine from behind snapping the woman's jaw shut with one hand and used the other to break Kristine's grip and growled a deadly sort of growl in the vampire's ear. "Let...her...go." Claire spoke through gritted teeth and once Kristine did, Claire threw the redhead back and looked to her huffing.

"Get in your office Kristine." The wolf growled, she was on the verge of ripping the vampire apart for that, and had to remind herself to breath and while she wanted to beat the ever loving crap out of the vampire for what she had done, Claire stayed near Vanessa as protection.

When Kristine hit the floor her hands came up to quickly used her hands to cover her mouth when she realized what she had just done. "I.i..is...ook.." The timid girl saw that deadly look in Claire's eyes and was gone in a blink.

"Are you okay." Claire asked as she turned back to Vanessa trying to make sure that Kristine hadn't bit her.

Vanessa was tired, she didn't want to hear any more of it. She went to leave when Kristine rounded the corner. Something was off about her but before she could do anything Kristine lunged at her and slammed her against the wall. Her breath flew from her lungs making her gasp. How could such a tiny girl have such strength? Vanessa's head collided with the brick of the wall making her vision swim for a few moments.

Vanessa's hands pressed against Kristine's shoulders to keep her away from her. The older woman's eyes landed on Kristine's fangs and she let out a blood curling scream trying to fight off the woman. Claire rushed forward to her defense and pulled Kristine away. Vanessa fell to the floor and scrambled back as far as she could staring at the redheaded woman in complete and total fear.

What the hell was that? What was she?! She attacked her like....a vampire. But that was crazy vampires weren't real. They couldn't be real! Claire spoke to her and she moved back crawling backwards away from her as she used the wall to pull herself to her feet her legs shaking in fear. "That...what...how...wha..WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT?!" she shouted pointing at Kristine's office. Her hands were shaking violently. Vanessa ahd never been so afraid in her life. Mainly because the things she had fear of didn't have fangs and superhuman strength.

She stumbled back and placed her hand on the wall and hurried down the hall away from the nurses station, away from Kristine and Claire. She needed to see someone, what she just saw couldn't have been real? NO, Kristine was tiny, very tiny, she couldn't possibly lift her off the floor, pin her to a wall AND try to bite her. But if Kristine really was a vampire...then Claire...oh dear God she needed help.

PostSubject: Re: When Apologies Aren't Enough   When Apologies Aren't Enough I_icon_minitimeSat Nov 10, 2012 6:19 pm

Claire was less then pleased with Kristine at the moment, and she would surely be back to deal with the vampire later, but right now she had a more pressing matter on her hands, Vanessa. "Just breath, she's not going to hurt you." Claire spoke to try and calm Vanessa down.

The werewolf wanted to comfort Vanessa but knew that getting close could cause her to run, which the woman did already. 'shit' she thought to herself as she went to follow Vanessa, but made a stop at Kristine's office. "I'm not done with you yet, stay in here." she spoke firmly to the redhead who was on the floor in the corner of her office trembling and redhead simply nodded in compliance.

Claire then took in a breath of the air and picked up on Vanessa's sent and began to follow it so that she could calm the visibly shaken doctor. "Vanessa wait!" She called out as she got closer and against her better judgement she reached out and took Vanessa's arm to stop her from running.

"I'm not going to hurt you." She spoke as she tried to pull Vanessa close and comfort her. "It's okay, no one will hurt you I wont let them." she spoke in a caring manner. The wolf could only imagine what this must be like for Vanessa, but she didn't want the woman to go through this alone, the idea of that was literally making Claire sick to her stomach.

The feeling was so strong, that Claire actually had to let go of Vanessa even though she didn't want to and bent forward with her hands on her knees as she tried to breathe, but it wasn't helping. Claire quickly moved to one of the nearby trash bins and ended up throwing up, which was more then out of character for her. She had seen a lot in life but to have seen Vanessa so terrified, well it made Claire feel on edge and she threw up, that had to be it.

Vanessa was visibly shaking and couldnt' stop. "Not going to hurt me?!" she exclaimed moving further away from Claire, "She just tried to bite me and if I remember correctly vampires hurt people! Drink their blood turn them into brainless zombie! So no I think she was going to hurt me."

Vanessa was basically running down the halls, she needed to get out of this place. Who else knew what was crawling in these halls. Witches, wizards...creepy little goblins that would steal her shoes! No, this was not what she wanted. Not at all. When Claire's hand grabbed her arm she screamed and yanked her arm from her grip backing away quickly with her hands outward, "No...no this no...this is way WAY too much to take in. How is this possible!? This stuff isn't real!"

Part of her believed that Claire wouldn't hurt her after all she had had the chance plenty of times by now and she hadn't but on the other side of her brain it was screaming that a vampire who had seemed so sweet and innocent and who had even brought her coffee just tried to rip her throat out so yeah, best to stick on the safe side and keep a distance for now. Vanessa honestly didn't know what to tell Claire, her brain was currently in shock and shut down mode. Anything that came out of her mouth would either be screaming or jumbled mess.

When Claire threw up Vanessa's brain seemed to snap back in action. Her lips turned into a frown. Oh dear...stepping forward slowly, she reached out with a shaky hand and touched Claire's shoulder. "Claire..." she said softly her voice still trembling from fear. "I need to do a test on you. Nothing...bad or dangerous just...I need you to take it." If Vanessa was right, and she prayed to God that she wasn't, Claire wasn't just sick...it was something much worse.

Claire knew that Kristine would do everything in her power to undo what the vampire had done. That woman was so meek and overworked that it was bound that she would lash out at one point, thankfully Claire had been there to stop it. "Kristine isn't like that, she doesn't drink from people. She was caught off guard, she wont try and bite you again I assure you." Claire was sincere in her words, she would see to it that Kristine kept her fangs at a distance, Oliver would help to assure that.

The werewolf by no means expected Vanessa to take all of this news easily, but she'd be lying if she said that Vanessa pulling away from her and screaming didn't hurt her down her very core. Claire never wanted to cause that much pain in the woman, that much fear. She would have to back off, give Vanessa her space let the woman come to her when she was ready but that was a thought she also couldn't bare either.

Feeling the warm but trembling hand on her shoulder, caused Claire to place her hand softly upon it. Turning her head she looked to Vanessa calmly "Let me take you home, don't worry about me." She spoke softly, trying to be as none threatening as possible at this point. "I'm okay, I promise."

It still didn't help Vanessa's anxiety that she was working next to a vampire that could potentially eat her when she wasn't paying attention. Unconsciously she rubbed her neck to fight away the invisible tingling at that thought of Kristine's fangs in her neck. Shaking away the feeling she looked down at Claire who had just tossed up whatever was in her stomach. "Just...humor me and take the test." she honestly hoped she was wrong and that it was just over excitement that caused her vomit.

She withdrew her hand from Claire and pulled her up, leading her to the nurses station she peaked around the corner to make sure Kristine wasn't there and brought Claire inside. "Take a seat." she ordered walking to the cabinet and withdrawing a few items she walked back over to Claire and took her arm. Wiping it with an alcohol swab she tied a rubber band around her arm and poked her vein. She avoided eye contact the entire time and gently slid the needle into her arm before withdrawing a vial of blood.

Untying the band she stepped away and walked to a small table to do the test. Please be negative, please be negative Vanessa honestly couldn't take anymore bad news today. She tapped her foot impatiently and watched her watch tick by until finally, the test turned pink. Instantly Vanessa's face paled. Closing her eyes she rested her hands on the table and fought back her own wave of nausea. Clearing her throat she pulled off her gloves and brought Claire the little paper. "Congratulations...you're pregnant."

If it would make Vanessa feel better to run a test on the wolf, then Claire could hardly argue with her. She gave a nod agreeing to the test if only to humor Vanessa like she had asked. "Okay, but then I am taking you home." She replied because after the day that Vanessa had already, Claire knew that resting was something the nurse should do.

As they walked back into the nurse's station, Claire could smell the fear still rolling off Kristine as she hid in her office. She knew it would be a long time before that woman would ever get over what she had done. With that in mind Claire made a mental note to talk with the vampire later about what provoked her to lash out like that and get something for Vanessa that would make her feel safe around Kristine.

Taking a seat, Claire watched as Vanessa got ready to draw some blood. She didn't have the slightest idea why Vanessa wanted to, her blood would come out just as normal as human blood, but maybe that was it. The wolf figured that this was Vanessa's way of making Claire as human as she was.

Within seconds of the needle being pulled from her arm it healed, leaving behind a small bubble of blood that Claire simply wipes away. The wolf didn't want to say anything because she wanted Vanessa to see that there was nothing wrong with Claire aside from a wolf that came out every now and then.

What she heard come out of the woman's mouth caused the wolf to laugh, because thre was no way what so ever that she was pregnant. "That's impossible its been nearly a hundred years since I've had sex." She replied, with Vanessa knowing that she was a wolf there was no need to lie, even if it did seem like a exaggeration.

Still the wolf looked at the piece of paper that was handed over to her and the results that were clear as day. It brought back old memories of her past, when she was mated and her pups sold off like pets. "Besides if I was pregnant I would be stuck in my wolf form, so this can't be right." She added with a bit of sadness left in her voice.

Claire was pregnant, so not only was she a werewolf who played with her emotions she was also a pregnant one. Just...fucking wonderful. Thanks a lot asshole she cursed up to God. It was obviously him that liked to see her suffer. She hadn't had a decent moment of happiness since she moved here and the one time she thought she did this had to happen. It was like she had a giant sign on her head that screamed loser.

"Blood tests don't lie Claire, you're pregnant." she should be happy for her after all, pregnancy was a good thing. But she couldn't help but feel...cheated. Cheated out of what could have been and the potential of being happy. Smoothing back her hair she grabbed her jacket and slid it over her shoulders again. "You're pregnant Claire. I can tell the signs just by looking at you, you have a small pouch on your stomach, you're basically glowing, you tossed up your lunch in the hallway so yea, you're pregnant. Congrats. now I'm going home." she didn't want Claire to take her home, she wanted to walk, alone, in the cold to clear her mind. If Claire came it would only bring up questions that she really didn't want to know the answer too.

When Apologies Aren't Enough Empty
PostSubject: Re: When Apologies Aren't Enough   When Apologies Aren't Enough I_icon_minitimeMon Nov 19, 2012 5:08 am

Claire couldn't believe what she was hearing because it couldn't possibly be real. When a werewolf got pregnant they were forced into their animal form to carry the child to term because of the full moon. There was no way that this pregnancy would last the first full moon and the child would die, there was no way around that, and Claire knew it.

Still, Claire couldn't help but to be in shock as her hands moved to her stomach and she looked down. She... she was having a kid... what was... she cou... couldn't do this alone. Hell, the wolf didn't even know who the father was, or when this had happened it was like part of her memory had just gone missing now.

When Vanessa said that she was going home Claire stood up instantly "Let me walk you home, just so I know you are safe." She spoke as she reached out to Vanessa who was visibly upset and Claire couldn't blame her. Hell, Claire was upset, this wasn't what she wanted, she wanted Vanessa but she knew that Vanessa likely wouldn't believe her right now and that made Claire want to cry.

"After that... I.. I'll leave you alone, I wont come looking for you." She had a lot of sadness in her voice saying that because she knew that this could very well be the last time they saw one another but Claire didn't want to hurt Vanessa anymore then she already had.

Vampire's, werewolves, pregnancies, this was all a little too much for the doctor to handle today. She could have gotten over the fact that Claire was a wolf, it would have taken her a few weeks but she eventually would have. But now she was pregnant and the last time Vanessa checked, Claire was into women. So she got drunk and went out and slept with some guy because of all this and ended up getting pregnant. Just flipping wonderful.

Vanessa watched as Claire touched her stomach, it must be hard on her but she did it to herself and right now Vanessa's "give-a-damn" button was broken. Vanessa took a quick step back when Claire jumped off the table. It startled her, she couldn't help it but it startled her more than she would like to admit. She had watched plenty of horror movies were the wolf eats the poor little human woman and she really didn't feel like being attacked tonight.

She swallowed hard, should she allow her to walk her home? After a few minutes, she looked at Kristine's office and then back to Claire before giving a brief nod and walking out of the office. She would rather have a wolf walk her home than a vampire. Did they make home proofing kits for the supernatural?

Claire didn't have any idea how to go about fixing this, she didn't even remember how she had gotten pregnant to begin with. Was this even fixable? Claire had no idea and that was breaking her heart even more. The silence wasn't helping either, but Claire understood all of this was a lot to take in, hell Claire was still trying to absorb it all as well.

The wolf looked to Kristine's office as they began to walk out of the nurse's station, she would come back to talk with her later. She then looked to Vanessa and would say anything to get over the silence "She... she wont be able to enter your home without permission." Claire spoke softly as they walked along, hoping that would make Vanessa feel better.

"I will get you something to... that will keep wolves out as well." She knew that it would mean that she wouldn't be able to enter either, but if it would make Vanessa feel safe that was all that mattered to Claire. It was going to be very hard to keep herself away from Vanessa but she knew that the woman needed her space and just prayed that time would at least mend things enough that they could be friends.

Vanessa kept a little distance between herself and Claire as they walked in silence. They received a few strange looks at the students who knew that the two of them were friends and were for some reason acting differently. Oh if only they knew. She looked at a few students as she passed secretly wondering if they were vampires or werewolves as well. She had be working in a nest full of creepy blood drinkers and crazy wolves.

Well it was nice to know that the old saying was true that a vampire couldn't enter a house without being invited first. But just in case she was going to spray her door with holy water. Just to be on the safe side.

They traveled in silence unsure of what to really say. She was too afraid to say or do anything. Once they got to the apartment complex she turned to Claire and took a pen and pad from her purse. Scribbling down a few things she tore it off and handed it to her, "Here is a list of prenatal vitamins that you'll need to take, some food that will be good for the baby and the number to the best baby doctor in the state." Sure she was upset but she wasn't completely heartless Claire needed to take care of herself...and her baby.

Claire felt her heart ache as they got to Vanessa's apartment, because this could very well be the last time she saw her face to face. She gave a soft nod to the list that was given to her and folded it gently and placed it in her pocket. "I'll always protect you." She spoke softly before she slowly leaned in and kissed Vanessa's forehead softly. It was probably stupid but if this was the last time she would see Vanessa then she wanted a chance to kiss her goodbye.

The wolf then turned and began to walk away, though she did pause to look over her shoulder one last time. "When your ready to talk, you know where to find me." She spoke with hope in her voice that it would actually happen. With that she turned back around and began her walk home. There was a lot to think about, more importantly a lot to decide now that she had a child on the way things had to change.

Day's passed, then weeks. Vanessa avoided Claire and kept a safe distance from Kristine when she was at work but eventually the anger and betrayal ebbed away. Claire was a good friend and she had never hurt her before. She had had plenty of chances to do so and never did. So, here she was standing at Claire's door step looking like an idiot. She had been pacing in front of Claire's apartment for what had seemed like an eternity until finally she lifted her hand and knocked on her door.

There was a basket by her feet full of baby items. She didn't know how long wolves carried since they were supernatural creatures so she just got a bunch of random things like bibs, pacifers, some cute clothes for boys and little girls and a baby book for her to keep track in. Tapping her foot she knocked one more time and shoved her hands in her pockets, she felt like an ex who did something really bad and was trying to make up for with gifts. Which she kind of was.

Claire had been standing on the other side of her door with Vanessa had arrived there. Her hand was reached out towards the door knob because she was getting ready to head out when she caught the scent of the other woman standing there. Her breath hitched as she stood there looking at the door like a deer in headlights. Claire wanted to fling the door open but part of her couldn't bring herself to move. The last few weeks had been hell, the girl was barely able to pull herself out of bed let alone do her job because of being so depressed.

The knock on her door made the wolf jump back and it was then that Claire even realized that she had been holding her breath. It wasn't until the second knock that Claire realized that she hadn't moved and quickly looked over her outfit before running her hand through her hair and stepping forward and opening up the door. She was at a loss for words seeing Vanessa standing there, it was breath taking really. Stepping back she opened the door enough that Vanessa could come inside. "Please come in." She spoke as she motioned for the woman to enter.

"Its good to see you." Claire spoke as she gave Vanessa a smile, Claire was at a loss for what to do or say. All she really wanted to do was beg for Vanessa's forgiveness but didn't know where to start.

After what seemed like an eternity the door finally opened at Vanessa looked at Claire. God she missed her, she really didn't even care she was a wolf anymore. It sucked being alone, not talking to her, not seeing her. It made her feel empty. So she sucked up her pride, and most of her fear and brought herself to Claires. Picking the basket off the floor she brought it inside with her and stopped in the middle of the room and turned to face Claire.

Vanessa didn't believe in soul mates, or true love but she cared very much for Claire. Much more than she probably should but she did. Greatly. And if you care about someone you accept everything about them, even if they are a pregnant lesbian werewolf. Smiling she nodded slowly and held out the basket to her. "I...didn't know how long wolves carried so I just...got a bunch of stuff." Handing the basket to her she shoved her hands in her pockets and rocked on her heals, "You look good...how have you been feeling?"

Claire closed the door softly after Vanessa came inside. She wanted to wrap her arms around the woman and kiss her but she had to stop herself. Well really is what she wanted to do was break down and cry, but the wolf was all out of tears for the moment so she settled on just keeping a distance so she wouldn't do anything stupid. "Um, I'm not really sure myself, last time... well I wasn't human then." She spoke before she took hold of the basket and gave a weak smile "Thanks."

The wolf walked over and put basket on the counter and looked over too Vanessa "Thanks, I've... I've been okay." She spoke as she walked over to one of the cabinets and grabbed a glass and reached for another one "Would... would you like something to drink?" Claire figured she could at least be hospitable.

"Have... how have you been?" She asked in a concerned manner as she had done what she said and stayed away from Vanessa, even avoided the nurse's station at all costs to make Vanessa felt safe. Hell, Claire had even threaten Kristine, gotten Oliver to bind her door way so no supernaturals could enter without her permission. Even got a potion for Kristine so she wouldn't even be tempted by Vanessa, not that she said any of that.

"I've.. I've missed you." Claire spoke honestly as she Vanessa, these last couple of weeks had been hell.
