The masquerade ball, this was something that Zeus normally would have avoided like the plague... again... but alas being associate dean he figured it was best to make an appearance. Though, in his case it wasn't like he would be making an appearance at all seeing the [Only admins are allowed to see this link] that he had picked out.

Zeus felt that it was best to cover his face completely just incase Evelyn was there, that why she wouldn't know that it was him. It was perhaps a childish move, but the last thing he wanted was to feel even more tense then he did now.

As he walked into the ball he adjusted his [Only admins are allowed to see this link] and then slipped his hands into his pockets as he walked around.

Seeing through the mask was a little more challenging then he had first expected but at least it kept his face covered. He was especially thankful for that when he managed to slip past the woman while she was tending to a small child. It just meant that he had made a good choice or that she was ignoring him which either of the two was fine.

Zeus scanned the room with his eyes, almost content with the idea that he could help hold up the foundation of this place by leaning against a wall, that was until he saw Castielle. Even with the mask, Zeus would recognize that stance anywhere, and seeing as he had already saw Evelyn he was sure that it was her.

a smile creased across his lips, though was left unseen as he walked over to where the woman was standing. "A lady such as yourself should not be standing here alone. Mind if I join you?" He asked kindly as he gestured to the spot next to her. He wasn't sure if she would recognize him or not but he had a hunch she would, and should she not then the mask could be lifted for a moment.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Castielle had almost decided not to attend the ball this year but Evelyn had asked her too which was why she was here mingling with the other staff members and nursing the glass of champagne in her hand. She secretly wished it was something a lot stronger but for now it would do. Where many where wearing large poofy ball gowns she wore a simple red [Only admins are allowed to see this link] that she had had in her closet for a long time. Her hair was twisted elegantly into tight curls and a medium sized orchid was weaved along the side of her golden locks.

She wore no mask, though she was offered one at the door. She was never one to hide her face, even if it was masked ball. Evelyn often called her a party pooper but she didn't care. Balls were not as they use to be anymore. These were college students who were parading around like ladies and gentleman but in truth they were immature selfish loud and annoying humans with too much time on their hands. If only she could travel back in time that would be much more interesting than this ball. Tipping her glass back she elegantly finished her drink and sat in the the tray of the passing butler. Bowing slightly she excussed herself from the staff and made her way over to the large windows overviewing the gardens.

Perhaps if she had had someone to come to the ball with it wouldn't have been so dull. If only Duncan were here. He would have swept her off her feet in a moment and waltz her into an endless dream. But alas, it was not meant to be. Duncan was buried in her garden, a constant reminder that she was alone. Sighing heavily she tilted her wrist to look at the petite watch on her arm. She had been here long enough, it was time to turn in. A lady such as yourself should not be standing here alone. Mind if I join you? Turning slightly she glanced at the masked man who spoke to her. His scent drifted to her nose making her smile broadly. "Mister Riley." she said sweetly curtsying to him. "You may, of course. I wouldn' think you would come to the ball. You don't seem the type."

Zeus wasn't one for these types of things but being that he held a high position at the school he figured it was important to make an appearance.

Once Castielle spoke his name, he reached up and removed his hat, and took off the mask, no need to talk through it at this point. "I, tis just me." He replied with smile as he placed his hat back on and held the mask in his hand as he stepped beside the vampire. "It's not really my thing, but I am the associate dean of the school, whether I am welcomed or not, and figured it was my place to at least make an appearance." He added, plus he was determined to be here if only to prove to the dean that he wasn't out for her job but for the better interest of the school.

"Had I known you were coming, I would have asked to accompany you. Someone with such grace shouldn't have to show up here alone. Might I offer you a dance to at least make up for the horrible shame that you came alone?" He asked as he extended a hand to the woman in a kind fashion. He figured that Castielle at least deserved one proper dance before she scampered off.

Sure, he was a little concerned that he would bump into the dean on the dance floor, but he was a gentlemen and that meant offering the vampire at least one dance. "Or maybe a stroll outside, if you don't wish to dance?" He offered as well, just in case she didn't want to dance.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Evelyn really did not like Zeus. She was always so paranoid that someone was out to get her. Which really wasn't the case but she was so set on her ways that she couldn't see that he was only there to help. But Evelyn despised help from anyone. Stubborn woman.

Zeus had an old soul feeling to him, probably because he was an old soul. But the way he talked, dressed and even moved spoke a story that few could read. She was one of the lucky ones that could. It was good to have someone around that was as old as she was. They had a lot in common age, history, taste in things. He was a comfortable addition to her life one she could easily get lost in if she wasn't careful. Waving her hand she shook her head slowly and folded her hands together neatly. "I haven't had any accompany me to anything in a long time. I'm quite use to it." Twice she was stood up at the alter and the last relationship she was in ended up with her lovers heart being ripped out. Castielle had come to the decision that she was meant to be alone.

The Elder vampire smiled and nodded placing her cool hand on his. The Queen's Waltz played from the orchestra in the corner. This was one of Castielle's favorite dances. Taking her position she smiled and curtsied before effortlessly gliding across the floor allowing Zeus to lead. She loved to dance, even as a child she was always dancing in one way or another. "Thank you Zeus, I always hated being a wall flower."

Zeus was just happy to have someone around that didn't want him dead, it was just a bonus that it happened to be Castielle a woman who had taken care of him as a child. He had spent some time catching up with her, especially after the incident that happened between them. "Well, as long as I am at this school, you will never have to go without company again." He reassured her, because Castielle didn't deserve to be left alone at events like this, she was to good of a person for that.

The cold feeling of her hand, didn't phase Zeus in the slightest, he simply held it as thought her hand was a delicate flower and escorted her to the dance floor. He only released it to bow and when he did that, like a gentlemen he removed his hat. He should have set it down somewhere but it was okay, he simply placed it back on his head when they stood and gracefully took the lead. "Tis my honor M'lady." He replied as they danced.

He was never a fan of dancing, if only because he never thought he was good at but he was actually rather graceful on his feet. He had surprisingly remembered the moves rather well. "If memory serves me correctly, I used to do this waltz with you as a child, though I believe I stood on your feet then." he chuckled a bit, he was but a short lad then, but it had been fun, if he memories was correct that was.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Zeus even as a child was very well mannered. Which was probably why she liked him so much. People now a days were loud and selfish. They only looked out for themselves and were greedy. Zeus on the other hand was still, in her opinion, wise and caring behind his years. They had spent time together after her classes catching up on things, having coffee, making sure Evelyn wasn't trying to kill him. Try as she might, Castielle was afraid that she was beginning to develop feelings for her previous ward.

For a long time the elder vampire kept her distance from people and for good reason. She couldn't take losing someone else. Castielle had lived for a very long time and the more peoples she watched die, only made her heart more empty and hallow. Soon she felt as if she would turn into nothing but an emotionless shell of what she use to be. Castielle was afraid of feeling anything for Zeus. If she did there was a chance he would be in danger. Yes he couldn't die which was an up side but she had many enemies. Powerful deadly enemies that would use him against her. It was better that she was alone, people were safe that way.

They weaved in and out between the other couples dance, the room becoming nothing but a blur as she gazed into the wizards eyes. Castielle laughed at the memory of little Zeus dancing with her. He was but a child then and barely came up to her waist but she enjoyed those moments. "You were as talented then as you are now." she replied softly looking down at his chest to avoid his gaze.

Zeus hadn't danced like this in years, he didn't really practice much over the years but he seemed light on his feet none the less, though he was a little concerned about stepping on her toes. He couldn't help but to smile lightly at her comment "I am only as talented as my teacher." He smiled because it had been her that taught him to begin with.

He noticed that she looked down and knew that she was trying to avoid his gaze but he didn't really know why. Without really thinking about it, he brought a hand up to her chin to lift her head softly. "One should never look at their feet while dancing, will cause you to step on toes." He teased her lightly, as it never seemed to fail, anytime he looked at his feet he always seemed to manage to step on the other person's toes.

"What weigh's so heavy on your mind Castielle?" He asked in a calm comforting manner. He wanted to be sure that it wasn't something that he had done, or better yet he wanted to know if it was something that he could fix for the vampire.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Castielle was talented in many things, dancing was one of the better ones. She knew many forms of dance spanning from all over the world, but the Queen's Waltz was her favorite. It made her feel free, light and graceful. Something she rarely felt now a days.It was good to have a partner to dance with especially one she taught herself. "Flattery will get you no where." she said with a smile.

Turning elegantly in his arms Castielle's back pressed against his chest as they continued to dance. The hem of her dress gently brushed against the floor. Had anyone told her that she would be at a ball with a man that she knew as a boy she would have laughed. Zeus was no longer the little boy she knew all those years ago. He was a man, a very handsome, very powerful man. It was wrong of her to feel any sort of attraction to him. But part of her couldn't help but feel some attraction to him.

"Nothing...nothing at all." she spun around again resuming her original position as the music slowly came to an end. Wrapping her arms around his neck she leaned back into the finishing notes of the song. Smiling she gently traced her fingers over his high cheek bones. Yes, he had grown into a fine man, his paretns would be very proud. No matter what bad things he may have done in the past, he was a good man now. She herself had done a great many terrible things in her lifetime. Things that would make grown men weap. But it was not what you have done in the past it was what you do in your future.

Zeus was by no means trying to flatter the elder vampire, he was simply telling her the truth. He wouldn't be able to do this waltz at all so he simple smiled at her "I can hardly flatter you, when I am simply speaking the truth." He replied kindly, and continued to dance with her. He couldn't help but to notice just how stunning the vampire looked this evening, but he did not speak of it. He still had pains from losing his wife and almost felt guilty for being attracted to someone, so he did not want to speak of it.

"You're eyes tell another tale M'lady." He spoke as he looked to her, trying to tell her that no matter what was on her mind, he would not be scared off. She could tell him anything, and he would do all that he could to help her, even if it meant pissing off the dean once more.

Without realizing it, Zeus leaned his head softly into her touch and smiled. He was trying to convince himself that he didn't find her attractive because well he had been raised by her for a short time and he shouldn't think those sorts of things of the vampire, but he did.

His other hand came down to the woman's waist as he held her close despite the fact that the dance was over. "Please tell me what is on your mind Castielle." He requested softly, because he simply had to know, he wasn't sure why but it bothered him that she wasn't saying what was wrong, it almost felt like it was his fault in a way.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]He was always to observant for his own good, even as a child. She could tell one story but her eyes always told another. He was one of the few who could deduce this from her and not lose their head. Should she tell him? No of course not. That would only cause problems one in which she wouldn't going down. It was better that she kept her feelings hidden from him.

I shouldn't be feeling this way. He was a child when I met him, I helped raise him it is wrong for me to feel anything other than compassion for him. And yet, he sparks something within me that I haven't felt in a long time. I need to distance myself.

Her eyes drifted to his lips then back to his eyes, it was hard to focus. Though the music stopped the stayed in their position. His hands kept her body close to his, his warm flesh contrasted her icy skin. Her tongue peaked out from her ruby lips to wet them from their sudden dryness. Her mind was screaming for her to move to get out of his grasp and simply go home where it was safe and quiet. Her eyes fluttered softly, causing her ebony lashes to brush the honey kissed skin of her cheeks. She didn't want to move but she knew she must if only to keep her dignity in tact. Here she was, nearly four and a half thousand years old and she was feeling like a love sick child.

Placing her hand gently on his chest she pulled herself up to stand and gave him a short bow. Many eyes had turned to them, curious as to why they were standing in such a way. Her keen ears heard many a whisper float around the ballroom. She kept her emotionless face in tact, and excused herself to the beverage table where she picked up the nearest drink and drank it slowly. She needed to leave, if only for her own sanities sake.

Zeus was never good at judging what was going on in a woman's head, hell half the time he wasn't good at judging what was going on in his head. Normally it didn't bother him, he would just walk away and let the female sort her feelings out and walk away, but today he couldn't. He just had a feeling that whatever was going through Cassie's mind, had something to do with him and she wasn't telling him what it was so that he could fix it.

When she walked away his hands dropped to his side in defeat, as he watched her walk away. He didn't know why she didn't say anything at all. Normally he would have just walked away, but with eyes on him, he turned and followed Castielle to the punch bowl. The wizard waited patiently for Castielle to finish her drink, then placed a hand upon her shoulder and the other came around and gently touched her chin as he tried to guide her into turning around.

"Have I done something wrong?" He asked in a curious manner, it had to be his fault that she was acting this way. "Please, tell me what I have done so I can fix it." He pleaded softly, he just wanted to fix what was wrong because Castielle was his only friend and he didn't want to lose that.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]She should have never come to this party. It was nothing more than a bad idea from the start. The vampire hadn't missed the look Zeus had once she left. That only made her heart tighten more. Please God, don't let him feel anything for me as well." Since the death of Duncan, Castielle had sheltered herself away from people. She didn't make friends, she didn't have drinks with colleges after a hard days work. She kept herself distant so she could be spared the pain of potentially losing someone again.

She swallowed down the bubbling beverage hard before setting the crystal glass down upon table. Her body tensed when he touched her shoulder, his heavy scent drifted across her senses making her eyes flutter close for a moment. She allowed him to turn her body to face him, a foolish mistake on her part. For the past few weeks she had grown closer to her previous ward. The only person closer to her was Evelyn. Castielle was fearful to allow herself to feel anything for him. She did not take rejection well and should anything happen to him because of her, she wouldn't know what to do with herself.

Castielle sucked in an unsteady breath and turned her icy gaze upon Zeus. "Of course not, you've done nothing wrong." she said softly gently placing her hand on his to remove it from her chin. The large antique clock chimed loudly on the wall. It was ten o'clock and this party looked no where near complete. Offering him a small smile she touched his cheek softly and shook her head. "You can never do anything wrong Zeus. There's nothing to fix." save for these emotions that coursed through her body like fire. He wouldn't understand, no one really would.

Zeus was relieved that it was nothing that he had done, but at the same time it meant that there was still something going on that he didn't know about. He let out a sigh because he hated seeing Castielle so... so out of sorts. He did drop his hand as it was guided away but placed it softly upon her shoulder instead. She needed to know that he was there to support her, no matter what was going on. "While I am relieved to know that it is not me that troubles you, I still worry what is going on. You look like you are trying to run from a ghost." He felt like there was something that he should be doing for her but seeing as he didn't know what was wrong, what could he do.

Bringing a hand up, Zeus removed his hat, before leaning up slightly and placing a soft kiss on the woman's forehead. "I am here for you no matter what, Castielle I hope you know that." He spoke as placed his hat back on and went back to standing with his feet flat.

"Come, lets get you some fresh air, you look like you could use it." He spoke as he offered her arm to Cassie. He knew that she didn't breath, but it seemed like this party was starting to be to much for her and maybe the night air would do them both some good. Sometimes ones just needed to take in a deep breath of fresh air to calm down the events of the evening.

"Come we can always come back." He tried to encourage her, hoping that a walk would help clear her head and make it easier for her to tell him what was going on in her mind.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Castielle nodded at his words no trusting her voice to speak at this moment. His words were true though, she was running. Castielle was by no means a coward, she was simply cautious of things. Things that could eventually send her spiraling into a deep dark depression. She didn't want to go through that again so she was trying to distance herself. But something about Zeus kept pulling her back. It was like the constant push and pull of the ocean. She didn't no whether to fight against it's grasp or let it take her where it wanted.

Castielle pulled her bottom lip between her teeth and stood perfectly still as his lips pressed against her head. Calm yourself Castielle...it's perfectly innocent. Perfect.....perfectly innocent.. Opening her eyes she released her now swollen lip from between her lips and looked down at his arm wearily. A million warning signals were going off in her brain telling her to just politely refuse and head home for a nice bath and some wine. But, like always, she never listened and slowly the vampire wrapped her arm around Zeus's and took in a deep breath. She wanted to believe that everything would work out fine, but in all her long years of life that hard never happened. Not once. There was no use in trying to think that it would now.

They exited the ballroom and began their little walk into the many halls of the school. The large windows showed the dark night with billions of shimmering stars the flickered brightly in the sky. Her heels were the only sounds made as the two made their way down the hall. The soft classical music of the orchestra soon faded from her ears leaving them alone with their thoughts.

Zeus placed a soft hand upon Castielle's arm as they walked out of the ball. He was glad that she at least agreed enough to go on a walk, or out or some air because he was worried about her. He had been through enough pain and loss with his wife, to know that there was something bothering the vampire but he didn't say a thing as they walked along wanting to give the Castielle her space to be in her thoughts.

It wasn't until they had been walking for some time that Zeus got a look on his face that things didn't add up all that well. They had been walking.. and walking... and walking... but nothing, no doors, no class rooms just walls. "Is it just me or have we been walking for sometime now?" He asked as he looked over to her. It was strange to him that not only had the music gone away but so did everything else.

There was no students, no people, but hallowed halls and if Zeus had been paying more attention to start with he would have noticed that Evelyn had disappeared into these halls and not come back as well. He used his free hand to scratch at his forehead softly for a moment and bit on his lip. It wasn't until he tried to test something that he realized the danger that they were in. "I don't wish to worry you M'lady but I fear we have walked ourselves into some black magic." he spoke up, sure he knew that magic was neither black nor white but it was the best way to put it.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Castielle had been so lost in her thoughts that she didn't notice that they had continued walking and it seemed to never end. She stopped and looked over her shoulder at where they had just come from and all she saw was an endless length of hallway. Turning she looked in front of her only to see the same thing. Placing her hand on the wall she knocked a few times to listen ot the solid sound behind it.

"Of course we have, because it would seem the fates just love playing with me this month." she said with a heavy sigh. First the elevator and now with a labyrinth of hallways. Just wonderful how could it possibly get any worse? As if on cue a deep growl vibrated in Castielle's ears. Stepping closer to Zeus she gently grabbed hold of his jacket. "It would seem we're not alone either. Come...let's try and get out of here before whatever that thing is comes and finds us."

Quickening her pace she set off down the path in front of them. The growling continued to get louder behind them. Castielle made the mistake of looking behind her the next thing she knew a giant black mass launched towards them. Pushing Zeus out of the way she grunted as the beast collided with her knocking down the hall. The sound of fabric tearing made her growl loudly. This was one of her favorite dresses! Pushing the demon from her form her arms shook as she restrained him. "What the hell are you?"

Zeus wondered why he hadn't sensed it before, but whatever was creating this magic was most powerful... and growing closer. So this thing had a form... and he wanted to see it, but Cassie had other plans as she took hold of him and began to drag him down the hallway towards a safe direction well as safe as one could get.

There was something else about the beast that caught his attention... the repulsive smell of blood. It was... it was injured. He wanted to look back to see the beast, but was suddenly pushed off to the side, causing him to stumble back and fall.

He looked up to see the beast trying to pin Cassie and he wasn't having that my any means. Pushing himself off the ground, Zeus growled a little as he ran towards the beast. Luckily he saw the beast from behind and large claw marks were down the beasts back and gave him a target.

Once he was close enough, the wizard threw a punch into one of the open wounds as hard as he could hoping to distract the beast enough that it came for him and not Castielle. He could take the injuries... painful but he didn't have to worry about bleeding out.

The beast was bleeding, she could feel the warm liquid splashing on the fabric of her dress as it fought against her. It was wounded, but still very strong? Just what the hell was this thing and why was it in the school? How could it have gone undetected for so long?

The demon howled angrily and arched it's back to retreat from the attack. Jumping from Castielle's form the demon turned to Zeus with a new fury. It growled angrily at him, it's attention turned to the man instead of the woman. Castielle pulled herself off the floor and watched the encounter. Looking around her she noticed a large mirror on the wall. The demon growled angrily and lunged for Zeus, snatching the mirror from it's post she hit the demon in mid leap shattering the glass in a million tiny pieces. The beast flew over Zeus and collided with the wall and crumpled to the floor.

"Are you okay?" she asked softly tossing the mirrors frame to the floor and looking at he hand. It was cut rather deeply but nothing she couldn't handle. Was it dead? Probably not, it would take more than getting bitch slapped by a mirror to kill soemthing like that. Whatever wounded it must have been strong, if they were lucky they might make it out alive.

Zeus was tossed back when the beast thrashed from getting hit, the wizard landed on his back pushed himself up. He was getting ready to make another leap at the beast, when he suddenly realized that the beast was now focused in on him. That was exactly what Zeus wanted, but seeing the mouth... or was it mouths, on the creature made Zeus swallow hard. This wasn't going to be easy to fight off that was for sure.

As the beast lunged towards him, Zeus tried to teleport but it didn't work, blasted beast wasn't going to let him go that easily it would seem. By time he realized the magic wouldn't work there was little time for him to react and put his hand up as a way to protect himself only to hear the sound of breaking glass.

When he lowered his arm he saw that Castielle had unleashed another attack on the beast sending it running down the hall. It made him feel like he wasn't much of a man but he could worry about that later. "I'm quite alright, but we should get moving." He spoke as he stood up, and didn't even worry about dusting himself off, there was no telling when the beast would be back.

The beast took off before Castielle could do anymore damage. Her ruby heels crushing the shattered mirror beneath her feet. Blood trickled down her hand from the wound, she didn't like this. Being a rat in a maze was not her way of things. Especially when there was a giant multi-mouthed demon wanting to eat her. At least it was gone for now, and she and Zeus were safe.

Nodding at his words she pulled a handkerchief from her pocket and wrapped her hand tightly, tightening the knot with her teeth she tucked the stray ends under the fabric and continued down the ever stretching hallway. Castielle had never been a fan of mazes or labyrinths. Enchanted ones were worse, they tricked you, played games with your mind and above everything else...they cheated. "I've never heard of anything like this have you?" she asked keeping an ear out for any unwanted movements.

She could hear the walls shifting as they moved. Stretching, turning, creating false hope. "How could this thing go unnoticed until now?" she would definitely bring this up with Evelyn once she got out of here. There was no if. She would be getting out, and Zeus would be with her. Even if she had to rip this demon a new asshole to get out she would. No one attacked her and lived to tell about it.

Zeus walked with Cassie, staying close and on guard as they made their way through the hall turned maze. All the while he was going through his magical history to figure out just what exactly that thing was. He had heard of something like this but as far as he was aware the beast had been disposed of long ago... by Victor. "I do hope that my theory on what this beast is, is wrong, but if I recall correctly he is a demon, one who was a fan of trapping people." He spoke with a bit of a concern, because he knew that it meant they could remain stuck in this twisted maze if they did not get out.

"It likely didn't Madam, I think that it was released by accident." He had known that Victor had sealed away a beast much like this one years ago at the school. It must have gotten out because of a careless student, but he wouldn't dare point the blame. If anything, the wizard wanted to find a spell to make it harder for the beast to get out but first, the two of them needed to get out of here first.

"Tell me do these halls have any secret passages?" He figured maybe they could trick the beast by using one if they existed at all.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]This school needed better security it would seem. Demons, hell hounds, God only knew what else would happen within the next few months. But one thing was for sure, there never was a dull moments here. Castielle turned her attention to Gauge when he spoke, her brows nitting together in confusion. "So you mean to tell me that this happened before and no one has tried to kill the demon? Instead they wanted keep it hidden?" Sometimes the vampire felt that the intellegence level of people were dropping as time went on.

Accident, it was always an accident. One would think that they would keep a better eye on dangerous things at this school. Any more student deaths and they should just rename the school a morgue instead of a university.

Sighing she looked around her at the repeating pattern of the painting and mirrors. "The school is filled with secret passages but the laws of physics don't apply here so even if we were to find a secret passage I don't think it would actually take us to the right room. We cound end up in the Deans office instead of the lobby. But I will see if I can find one." Evelyn had taken her on a tour of the school and showed her a few of the secret passages that were hidden in the walls. They were behind paintings, tapestries, even two way mirrors. You just had to have a keen eye in spotting them.

They continued to walk until came to a stop. A large painting of Victor hung on the wall, it was old and the paint had already begun to crack. But something that stood out were Victor's eyes. Anyone who knew the old vampire would know that his eyes were brown but in the painting they were electric blue. Placing her hand on the canvas she gave a hard push making the painting move back from the frame and slide to the side exposing a dark tunnel. Lucky be a lady tonight! Turning to Zeus she stepped aside and smiled. "After you."

"If my memory serves me correctly, the beast couldn't be killed. I believe Victor had locked it away and with the human's being here, well its off set the balance and kids are looking for places to hide and do their magic or shifting or whatever it may be." He explained, because he had seen more kids sneaking about trying to hide from the humans so they didn't get caught. This was something he hoped to justify, maybe make a little magical place for those who are gifted that humans who didn't know what was going on, couldn't get in.

"I doubt that the monster can control the secret passages, magic doesn't typically take control of what it can't see. So the secret passage should be safe." He replied because he had a feeling it was just one hallway that was effected and it just turned into a massive maze from there. It would be something he would look into later for now they had to get out.

When they found the passage he was relieved and once inside he held one hand out to Cassie and the other was palm was held up and a ball of light came from it so that they could see their way through the maze. "This should help us." He smiled and waited for Cassie before he would continue forward.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Wonderful a demon that can't be killed just what ever college needed. Castielle fought hard not to roll her eyes at his words. Humans, over the years Castielle had adapted to them but she still thought they were stupid as hell. It wasn't a good idea to mix humans with supernaturals especially in an enclosed enviorment. Witches and Wizards were one thing but humans with no powers and no way to defend themselves were another.

She allowed Zeus to go first, looking down the dark hallways she turned around and stared at his hand for a second unsure whether to take it or not. Gathering the bottom of her dress she lifted it slightly to step into the hidden passage before slowly wrapping her hand around his. It sent a shiver up her spine, one that should not have been there at all in the first place. For heaven's sake she had watched the man grow up. These feelings were simply because she had been alone for so long. It was destined to happen sooner or later, so she told herself it was nothing ot get her panties tied in a bunch over they would go away soon. Hopefully.

As they continued to walk down the hidden path, Castielle watched the painting close behind them with a thud. Well, they were not in an enclosed space with barely enough room to walk, in the pitch black with a killer demon after them. Here's to hoping that nothing decided to jump out at them while they were wandering in this tiny space. Because if so, they were both screwed.

Zeus couldn't help but to smile feeling her hand in his, it was a comforting feeling but even he knew better then to get caught up in his emotions. He had been but a child when they met, but even though he was a man now that didn't change the fact that he still felt like that small boy holding her hand.

He decided to focus on the task at hand and took in the air around him. "Well good news is these halls are not filled with magic, that means we are safe." He spoke as he let the orb in his hand grow brighter to light the way. With the magic from the beast gone he was able to let the orb of light float in front of them, allowing or more visibility.

"If you need more light just let me know." He spoke as he walked along holding her hand. He felt like a kid in school, finally getting the attention from the cutest girl in class.

"This... this may be rather inappropriate of me to say, but I found that you looked absolutely radiant tonight." He spoke as he looked over to her. It was probably not the best thing to say, but seeing as it was only them in this hallway there was no need to worry about prying ears. Plus it was his way of sort of testing things to see if Cassie had any mutual feelings and if he needed to move past his own.
