[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Eliza dusted off the hem of her skirt that clung to her like a second skin, her shirt was stark white that came mid-arm and poofed out like a pirates shirt. She walked elegantly down the street looking at the little white piece of paper in her hand and matching the numbers on the buildings to that on the paper.. It had been three weeks since her encounter with the wolfman and every night his face plagued her dreams. Not that she complained seeing a Viking God in her dreams was enough to make her curl up on bed and sleep all day. But no, today was the day that she forced herself to come and find him.

At first, Elizabetia had no idea how to find him, she didn't know his last name, or his number. Sure she could return to the cave where he had saved her life but she highly doubted that he would be there. So she dug deep into her connections and had a man at the police station give her the information of the truck they had found wrecked off the road. After that it was very easy to track him. Pulling her long hair over her shoulder she marched up to the front door. It was a rather nice house very different from what she had thought. She had been walking for a long time now, the numbers on the buildings slowly winding down to the one she had on the paper. Honestly she didn't picture him living on a place like this. Somewhere closer to the forest with land to run in yes, but in the middle of town no. Finally she found the building that housed the man she was looking for.

Her brow rose slightly at the bar that she now stood in front of. That couldn't be right. Tilting her head slightly she looked up and noticed a small group of windows above the bar. Ahh...yes now that was more like it. Walking around to the side of the building she walked up a small flight up stairs and stopped in front of the door. Taking in a steady breath she knocked hard on the door and gracefully laced her hands behind her back as she waited for him to answer. If she had a heart beat it would be racing wildly in her chest right about now. How would he react in seeing Eliza after what had happened...perhaps this was a bad idea. Bitting her finger softly she waited for a few moments before turning on her heel and began to descend down the stairs.

In the weeks that passed the wolf had wondered about the vampire. He had gone back to check on the pack and make sure they were all fine, save the she-wolf that took the bullet for them; but the vampire had gone her own way. The memory of her biting into his flesh and drinking his blood made a shiver run down his spine. More often than not he had attacked vampires who dared bite him when he traveled with his pack, but she was different. It had been mesmerizing to see her flesh bounce back to it’s honey hue, her eyes light up, and her presence spark back to life. He didn’t know why he was thinking about it now, his mind wandered idly to her all too often.

It probably had something to do with the fact that he was bored. His mind wandered even as he kept his hands busy. As he sat up in his wide open loft with too many knick knacks with car parts on the wood coffee table to clean them and fix their broken odds and ends he daydreamed. Just as he was about to convince himself that he had dreamed the whole ordeal there was a knock at his door. What the hell? He wasn’t expecting anyone, and wild animals couldn’t knock (says the Snow White of men).

He took his time getting up, taking a sip of his night coffee and wiping his oiled hands on his jeans. He slicked his hair back into the small bun and opened the door, only to see no one. But trust that it was not a ghost, because immediately he recognized her smell. “Elizabetia?” He said her name gently, then hurried down a few stairs in his socks. “Wait,” he started, losing his grip on the English language and not knowing what to say to her. He was sure he must have looked as dumbfounded as he felt. “How did—“ Come on, Arian, get it together. “What are you doing here?” It was strange to see her on this side of town. It was a far cry from where the more noble people of the city lived. There were crummy cars and a few drug deals on the corners of the streets, but nothing harmful. To Arian it was home, but to someone like Eliza it probably seemed like the slums.

“Did you want to come inside?” He asked slowly and tried to wipe more of the grease and oil off of his hands and onto his white muscle shirt and faded jeans.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Eliza had just rounded the corner when she heard Arian's voice causing her to come to a dead stop. Great, now what? She had originally come to thank and repay him for saving her life twice now which should be no problem really but when his voice drifted to her ears her whole body grew nervous. Instantly she checked her appearance in one of the dirty windows at the bar. His heavy footsteps grew closer and she quickly turned on her heel to greet him, "Hi...Arian." she smiled brightly fiddling with her finger nails.

Straightening her posture she gently brushed her hair over her shoulder, "I came to see how you were. I took a lot of blood from you and I apologize profusely for that, but I wanted to make sure you were okay." That was part of the reason she was here, the biggest part actually. For the past weeks she couldn't help but wonder if her savor was feeling alright, most wolves detested vampire's feeding from them and it often lead to a civil war between species. She had kept having dreams of his past life. Nothing too personal, save a lot of battles, blood, and extremely hot men is barely any armor.

He offered her inside, well that was a first. Nodding her head slowly she walked back up the stairs of the loft and into the wolfmans human home. It wasn't as bad as she thought it would be. She imagined animals heads, some furs lying around, even a couple of dead animals but then she remembered that he wasn't a wolf 24/7 he had a human home and did human things when he wasn't in his best form. But it was rather nice, it had a homey feel to it. A definite man-cave as people like to call it. It was smaller than her home, then again she was use to large homes so something this small was adorable in her eyes. Nibbling on her bottom lip she turned to look at him, "Your home is lovely."

There was surprise on the wolf’s face when she told him that she came to see if he was all right. There was no need to apologize. He had done what was right and needed at the time. “I’m okay.” He started with short responses, still reeling the shock of seeing her. “Glad to see you’ve healed well.” She had healed very well and he couldn’t keep his eyes off of her.

It had never occurred to Arian before how his home would be portrayed. Usually he didn’t give a damn what other people thought, it was in his personality not to care about trivial things like that. Elizabetia made him a bit self-conscience of the mess, though he didn’t let it show. His home didn’t stink like a lot of bachelor’s homes did. It smelled like pine, forest and earth, and coffee since he had just brewed a pot.

“Ahh,” He groaned and smiled sheepishly at her, a rare expression on his normally serious face. “Thanks.” He watched her then, wondering if she would be too prim and proper to even touch anything. It may be dirty or unfit for her to touch. “How did you find me?” The wolf asked, walking to a chair and pulling the spare brake pads off of it and setting them on the coffee table with the rest of the car parts incase she wanted to sit down. He wasn’t entirely sure what she wanted now that she knew he was okay, but he didn’t want her to leave either. So instead he stood there, watching her, then found himself looking her up and down. Quickly he turned to sit back on the dark leather couch and waved his hand at the chair to gesture her to sit. “Did any of your vampire friends come looking for you that night?”

[Only admins are allowed to see this image] Eliza took a seat in the offered chair and crossed one slender leg over the other while placing her hands in her lap. "I have a friend at the Sheriffs Department who found what little remains of your truck survived the wreckage. He pulled the insurance card and got me the address." Boy that didn't make her sound like a stalker. She mentally slapped herself and chuckled nervously, "Don't think I'm some crazy person because I came looking for you. My actions are completely admirable."

Her leg bounced up and down slowly she enjoyed the scent of his home, it was comforting, like a cabin in the woods somewhere. Away from the noise and hustle of the city. It felt like it was in a completely place. The vampire female hadn't failed to notice how he looked at her, and normally it wouldnt' bother her in the least. She was use to men staring at her, but she couldn't help but want him to look at her. For some reason she found herself caring what he thought about her. Normally she would brush it off and hold her head high like the noblewoman she was. But he was different, something about him was different just as Sebastian had been different compared to the men of her time.

"No, they didn't. However, my friend did interrogate me the next morning as to why I didn't come home and why smelt of a wolf." Ahh, Francesca, Eliza loved the woman with all her heart but sometimes she wanted to strangle the undead life out of her. She had good intentions but sometimes came off as...well as a bitch. "I am sorry about your female wolf friend." She said sadly, "I never meant for anyone to get hurt."

"However, " clearing her throat she sat up in the chair and turned towards Arian, "I am here to repay you for your heroism so what shall it be?"

That wasn’t something you heard every day. The wolf laughed and leaned back against the couch, his eyes bright as he watched her. That was an awful lot of trouble to go to for someone, especially someone like her. He imagined she didn’t go after too many people in the slums. “I’m flattered. Did he question your motives or just hand over the address?” Arian would have questioned her, but been too stunned by her pretty smile to say no.

When her leg bounced he glanced to it, but otherwise kept his gaze upright. For once the wolf wanted to impress someone, and he took a wild guess that she didn’t appreciate men staring at her body. So the wild wolf was on his best behavior, though he wouldn’t admit why to himself.

“You should take a body guard with you to your next charity ball.” Did she call them balls, or was that too fancy? “That way you won’t go missing or have your friends interrogate you afterwards.” After the worst had already happened. “Do you often get yourself into trouble?” He asked and offered a small smile that clung to his face as a pest. Normally the wolf didn’t show so much emotion.

The she-wolf had been unfortunate, but her pack had mourned and moved on. He dipped his head solemnly and nodded as if thanking her without words. The lycan hadn’t seen the pack much since that incident. He’d kept himself out of the woods and into human-like trouble instead.

Arian stretched, trying to relax around Elizabetia, but soon felt himself shrivel back up and become tense again. She was trying to … pay him? The confused expression was written all over his face and he ran his hand over his hair, then leaned forward and rested his elbows on his knees. “You don’t have to repay me, Eliza.” The wolf couldn’t even think of anything he wanted. “There’s nothing I want or need.” Nothing that he couldn’t get for himself. “But if I ever find myself in danger I’ll call you.” No he wouldn’t, Arian was far too old fashioned to put a woman in danger before himself.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Her contacts had tried to tell her no when she asked for the address, but after a few smiles and a cup of coffee he handed it to her on a silver platter. The next step was gathering the courage to come and see him. "He had questions though I didn't answer them. I told him it was personal." She had connections for a reason and it was rare she tugged on those connections. In truth, Elizabetia wanted to be around him, he made her feel...alive. He saved her life twice and she owed him a lot. That other side of her seemed to kick into gear whenever she thought or saw him. A side she thought had died with Sebastian.

"Are you offering to be my bodyguard?" she teased with a smile, "And no, normally I lead a very dull and boring life to be honest. The attack was very random." Though she had been running for her life that night, she had contemplated on letting the hunter catch her. To kill her, so that she would be rid of this dull existence. She wore a friendly and happy mask everyday around people, but on the inside she was hallow, a shadow. She felt as if she had no real reason to stay in this world. She helped those who needed her but in the end they left, they always leave. France would miss her, but no one else. But Arian no stirred her mind more often than not. He seemed to bring a little light in her normal darkness.

" Nonsense there must be something you need? A new truck, it was my fault that your old one was torn to pieces I could buy you another." No he probably would decline that as well. "Can I at least buy you dinner, or a drink? Old habits die hard and I feel that I need to repay you. Please don't deny me." she flashed him a sad look, she hated being denied especially when she was trying to do something good, that and she wanted to spend more time with him even if it was only a few more moments.

The wolf imagined Elizabetia could pretty much get away with murder if she sweet talked her way out of it. Most men were willing to look the most intense things if it meant talking to a pretty girl. Why do you think Arian let her in his apartment even though it was over crowded with half baked ideas and half fixed knick knacks? Most people didn’t even get to see past Arian’s front door, let alone sit on his couch and chat with him. He was a private wolf.

“It sounds like you need one.” He quipped right back, smirking devilishly. Hell, she seemed so put together even after the incident in the woods. Maybe she was used to it all, or she was just a very composed woman, both of which Arian was impressed by.

The old wolf shifted in his seat at her offer, shifting his weight and scratching the back of his head to keep himself busy. “Insurance took care of the truck… Besides, I like to fix things and have half of it sitting in the shed.” While he searched for the other half to put it back together. It was his very own Humpty Dumpty he had to glue back in pieces. “You’re too kind, Elizabetia.” His accent sounding a little more Russian the last few times he spoke.

“You can buy me dinner if I can buy you a drink.” She didn’t eat, otherwise he would have offered to buy her dinner as well. The wolf offered shrugged his shoulders, leaving his offer hanging in the air. "But don't get used to it, I normally don't cave so easily."

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Eliza normally kept her nose clean. She had a routine that she followed everyday, wake up, shower, have a meal, make sure her fledglings were alright, head to the school to oversee it's well being, come home, dine, shower, spend time with the fledglings and go to bed. It was the same thing every day, except three weeks ago when her routine was thrown out the window by a series of misfortunate events. Ever since then she had craved something different. Something to bring a little light in her otherwise boring life.

They never tell you before you turn into a vampire what eternity is like, probably because the reason your sire is creating you is to escape that bit of loneliness. But over time, it always comes back. It always seems to find it's way back into the recesses of your life. Eliza was tired of being alone, even though she was surrounded by people who said they cared about her it wasn't the same feeling she had once had. But there was something about this wolf, though all laws of nature screamed that she should be his enemy, there was something that stirred a fire within her. And try as she might to fight against it, every time she thought of him her body would light up like a flame.

He took up her offer for dinner, somewhere inside of her a mini Eliza was doing a happy dance. "A drink would be lovely." No Eliza didn't eat but it didn't mean she couldn't enjoy herself in the company of the Viking man she had grown slightly attached too. If anyone of her species could see her now they would think she had lost her mind. Befriending a wolf was like committing an unforgivable sin in her species law. You never mingled with other races and you most definitely never became friends with them. But then again, Eliza had always broken that rule, and she'd be damned again if anyone dared to speak ill of Arian. They'd have their tongues as a souvenir when she was finished with them.

"Of course, I wouldn't dream of it." she tossed him a playful smirk and rose elegantly from her seat gently dusting off the back of her skirt, "I will allow you to gather your things so that we may leave." Eliza was sometimes a bit too proper. But she couldn't help it, she wanted to impress him.

A drink. They were going to have a drink, and that was all. It wasn’t a date, it was her showing her gratitude for him saving her. If it wasn’t a date then why did Arian feel the need to fret over where to take her? The bar downstairs was alright, but a bit rough. The crowd that went there were the biker type. Rough men in leather and older women with buff arms and tattoos smudged worse than their makeup. Or there was the bar down the street with the thugs. There were a few around the nearby neighborhoods that Arian mulled over in his head and he offered her a smile to disguise his complicated thought process over where to get a drink.

“Okay, just let me get my purse.” The wolf teased her with a sly expression and went to the kitchen to grab his wallet. Just as he slid the black billfold into his pocket a knock at the door made him stiffen and glance to the car parts. He looked to Eliza and motioned for her to stay put. “Hold on.”

The door creaked open after peeking through the hole and Arian laughed. “Shit, I’m sorry Kelly. I didn’t get time to finish.” The girl on the other side of the doorway was a petite young blond who wore makeup a little too dark for her blue eyes. ‘What else do I need?’ She asked, trying to peer around Arian at his guest before pulling herself back. The wolf turned and went to get a piece of paper to write the car part down that she needed and Kelly offered a pixie-like smile to Eliza as she looked her over. Arian scribble onto the back of an old envelope. “Get this, but don’t let them sell you the copper plated ones. It’s useless and I can make due with the cheaper ones.” He told her a few more things before she chirped him a ‘thank you’ and went on her way.

“She’s my neighbor. Her car broke down last night and I’m trying to fix the junker.” He gestured to the car parts on his coffee table before sighing and running a hand over his hair. It was obviously not going the way he wanted, but the wolf wouldn’t give up just yet.

“Shall we?” He held the door for Eliza like the lady she was, and once outside headed down the street to the less seedy part of the neighborhood. "The bar down here serves wine." He said with a slightly sheepish expression, she didn't seem like the beer guzzling type of girl.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Eliza chuckled at his joke, it was a much greater improvement from the three word sentences she had been receiving from their little meeting in the cave. Now he was speaking full sentences and even joking with her. It made her ego boost ever so slightly though she had no idea why. Eliza turned towards the knock at the door, had he been expecting company? Probably not, by the way he was dressed when she arrived. Leaning forward the vampire caught sight of a woman, her brow's furrow slightly as an unfamiliar twinge erupted in her chest. Eliza was, dare she say it, a tad bit jealous that Arian was speaking to another woman.

The emotion threw Eliza off, she rarely, if ever, got jealous. Especially with men, but she couldn't help it for some reason. Perhaps it was because they were interrupted, Elizabetia detested interruptions of any kind unless it was a dire emergency. In all honesty, Eliza had no right to be jealous, Arian wasn't hers to claim. Shoving back the little green monster that clung to her chest she returned the woman's smile with one of her own and nodded her head in acknowledgement. When Arian explained the situation her jealous ebbed away a little but not much. "That's very kind of you." she said softly walking out the door he held open for her.

It was a rather nice day, the sun shined brightly in the sky with dainty little white clouds floating about. Making her way down the steps of the loft, she took in her surroundings on more time, yes this wasn't exactly her cup of tea but it wasn't so bad. She would go wherever he wanted to. It wasn't a big deal to her. But they walked in comfortable silence down the small street until they reached the bar he spoke of. Taking a seat at the bar she crossed her legs elegantly and ordered her self a white moscato and waited for Arian to take his seat. "I'm glad you decided to take me up on the offer of dinner. I honestly didn't know what else to go for." Actually she did as much as she would love to ravage his extremely tone body. She was a lady and a lady never acted upon their fantasies...at least not without a first date.

No matter how long he lived in civilization it seemed there were still things Arian had to learn about etiquette. A normal man probably would have noticed jealousy, but not the outdated wolf-man. He simply shrugged at her and it went completely over his head if it had seemed rude to speak to another woman or anything of the sort. “I like to fix things. Especially shit cars that no one else will try.” He smirked and knew if his neighbor could have heard that she would have swatted at him.

It was surprisingly refreshing to walk in silence with Elizabetia. He glanced at her now and then, then held the door to the bar once they arrived. There were certain things that didn’t go unnoticed by the old wolf, one of which being her legs crossing. His blue eyes roved over them but he politely looked up soon after he regained his composure and ordered himself a tall beer as he sat down.

“You really don’t have to repay me. In fact I plan on fighting you for the tab.” He motioned to the bar tender a gesture and the men nodded knowingly at each other. “I’m still wrapping my head around you showing up at my door. Tell me, Elizabetia. What other tricks do you have up your sleeve?” He readjusted and positioned himself to face her, his side resting gently against the old wood bar. “What sort of connections do you have around town?” A woman as beautiful as her could easily get whatever she wanted from most men, having connections was just an added bonus. Once the bar tender set his beer down Arian took a large drink of it after his long day of getting his hands dirty, then set it down with a refreshed expression, ready to hear more about the mysterious woman from the woods.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Eliza brought the bitter sweet wine to her lips and sipped softly on the bubbling beverage. It was nothing compared to blood or a good brandy but for now this would do. Setting the drink on the dainty white napkin she licked her lip and flipped her hair over her shoulder while resting lightly on her elbow. The vampire hadn't failed to notice his eyes on her leg as it bounced lightly on top of her other leg. Her chest swelled slightly with pride knowing he liked her appearance. She didn't care that the other patrons stared at her as well, or the heated glares she received for females in the bar. Eliza had a good catch and she had no plans on releasing him any time soon.

"It'll be a tough fight my friend." she smirked, part of her was glad that he was this way. Who said that chivalry was dead? Arian was rough around the edges, very rough, nothing like what Eliza normally went for but he was a good man, something that seemed to have disappeared in a man as the modern era rolled over the old ways. It was good to find that quality in a man, especially one as delicious as him.

Sipping more on her wine she chuckled lightly idly popping one or two peanuts into her mouth. No vampire didn't eat but Eliza enjoyed the taste of certain foods. Clearing her throat she answered his question, "Ah, a magician never reveals their tricks." Eliza was known for having connections almost everywhere in the town. She was a business woman and as such it came with perks. "Oh, just a few things here and there. Nothing of grave importance." That was a lie, she could probably get anything she wanted with a snap of her fingers but she rare if ever actually called on her connections. She enjoyed doing things on her own. "What of you? What do you do, other than fix broken cars and saving strangers?"

Most wolves would have been uncomfortable talking to a vampire, but Arian found it easy. In his very long life he had learned that good company was good company; it didn’t matter what sort of race or species it was with. Humans had a lot to learn about that, as did many younger creatures. He sat and chatted with Eliza until it was surely night fall outside. Food was set in front of him and went quickly, as did many other drinks. It took quite a bit to give a wolf a buzz, but by the end of the night Arian was feeling good.

Most of their conversation was set on Eliza. He was curious about her, and always turned the topic back to her so he could listen to her life story. She seemed younger than him, but older than a lot of the brats running around town. He imagined even if she was younger she would still be just as interesting to him as she was now.

Soon the bustling bar around them was dwindling down to closing time and Arian pulled out his wallet briskly, sliding his card (yes – the wolf used a credit card. There were some modern things about him) to the bar tender and giving him a stern look to take his instead of Eliza’s. If She tried to fight her way into paying he would grab her hands and keep her at bay with a grin lighting his face. “It’s my treat. Shut up and accept it, Eliza.” He teased with her name before finishing off his last glass of beer. “Does anyone ever pay for you?” Did she ever let anyone pay for her?

Though the bar was closing soon he wasn’t ready to let her leave just yet, and it was evident in the way he looked at her. She fascinated him, and even though he had heard many stories about her by now he still wanted more. “How far do you live from here?” The wolf never even considered that inviting her over may have seemed too forward.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Eliza couldn't remember the last time she had had such a good time with someone. Yes, she enjoyed the company of the few friends she had but nothing like this. Soon her drinks changed from wine, to beer and eventually to whiskey, Eliza's one weakness. She had tried to keep the subject on him and his history however he was very sneaky and turned the conversation back on her more than once. The vampire couldn't remember the last time someone had been so interested in her before. Well, people were always interested in her enough to try and get into her pants but that was about as far as it went.

Arian, however, genuinely seemed interested in her. It brought a smile to her face. But eventually the bar patrons slowly began to leave until eventually it was just Arian, herself, and the rather large bartender behind the bar. Finishing off her small glass of whiskey she went to reach into her pocket when Arian slipped the bartender his card. "Sneaky wolf." I didn't matter, really. He would find the money back in his account by tomorrow if she remembered after so many drinks. Once the bartender gave him back his card she shot him a heated glare which caused him to turn away hastily.

She smirked at him using her nickname, it sounded good on his lips, if she said so herself. "No not really. I don't like people paying for me, I have money and I would rather not have someone who doesn't have as much as me spend what little they have. And besides, the last time someone bought me something was when I was on a date and I haven't been on one of those in...." she counted on her fingers for a few seconds. "Two hundred, thirty seven years."

The last date she was on was with Sebastian the night he had disappeared. Since then she had stayed completely faithful to him. She didn't look at other men, ignored their advances and gifts and stayed true. It had been nearly a year since she felt the bond between them break. This was the first time she had actually remembered what it was like to feel something other than sadness and emptiness. For that she was thankful. Testing her legs, she stood up slowly leaning slightly as the effects of the alcohol slowly set in. Giggling slightly she took out her phone and saw the little clock blinking 3:43 A.M. Oh..it was very late. Hopefully Francesca wouldn't be waiting for her.

"Not to far...about a fifteen minute walk believe it or not." Slipping her purse over her shoulder she turned to walk out of the bar waving goodbye to the still nervous bartender. The cool summer air hit her face softly making her inhale the upcoming scent of autumn. Turning to Arian she looped her arm with his, enjoying the feeling of his warm skin against her cool one. "Care to walk me home?"

The night went swimmingly, if he did say so himself. Arian enjoyed the vampire’s company. They sat and chatted, laughed, shared drinks (Arian even ordered something to eat and tried not to eat animalistically with a lady watching), and had a good time. He found himself looking her over here and there, but didn’t seem to care. Arian wasn’t a man of manners (or so he’d claim).

The fight for the payment was easier than he expected and he grinned slyly like an old cartoon wolf at Eliza. “My treat.” He repeated and signed his name on the dotted line. What she said next made him stop while dotting his I and he looked up at her with a raised brow. “Excuse me?” He sat up and propped his elbow up on the bar. “What little I have?” He watched her for a few moments then slid the receipt paper back to the bar keep who watched them, amused. “I do well for myself, thank you very much Ms. Romanov.” The wolf spoke with a smirk and shook his head, letting it roll off his shoulders. There was very little that could push Arian’s buttons.

The wolf was quick to follow Eliza and stand, running one hand over his hair to get his blood flowing. His body was hot to the touch, and even hotter now that he had been drinking and the alcohol made his head swim a little. He smiled charmingly at Eliza and nodded. “Just as long as we don’t get attacked again.”

Little did he know.

The air was crisp against his skin as they walked. He walked close to her, pointing out some of the constellations in the sky and the way a few street lamps flickered. It was the little things in life that Arian enjoyed and, thanks to a few extra beers, he wanted to share them with Eliza. He did his best to impress her, but never let it seem like that. Though his best was not good enough when a silent predator stalked them. Their blood was irresistible to the creature as it crept through the street. It waited until the most opportune moment, and just as it struck and charged for the vampire the wolf turned and caught sight of his hell bound cousin.

RUN!” His voice boomed to Eliza and he shoved her, then quickly turned to the Hellhound and a fight broke out. Immediately the dog snapped it’s jaws and clawed at the wolf as he held it’s mouth back. The two were a blur, thrashing and shoving with the sound of bones crunching as they hit the pavement. Within a few moments, slower than usual, Arian had pulled out his knife and stuck the Hellhound to gut it like a wild boar. It tore the animals stomach open all the way up to it’s throat and the animal turned on heel to run, leaving a bloody Arian to catch his breath before the poison began to set in and he screamed.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]"Not that you don't...I mean...I didn't..." she felt the stinging burn of a blush rush to her cheeks. She didn't mean to insult him...at all. But he let it roll off of him as if it were nothing. Thankfully, she didn't want to look anymore like an idiot in front of him. "I can't promise that, trouble seemed to try and find me."

Eliza gently laid her head on Arian's shoulder, enjoying the warmth his body produced compared to the bitter cold of her own. Her eyes followed his finger as he pointed out the constellations. So he enjoyed the stars that'll be something she'd have to keep in mind. His voice was almost hypnotizing the way it fell smoothly from his tongue. She wanted nothing more than to curl up and listen forever. But as she walked, Eliza felt a chill run up her spine, as if someone or something were watching them. However, she brushed it off as the alcohol playing tricks on her. But as soon as she began to relax again, everything happened in one giant blur.

Eliza heard Arian shout for her to run and shoved her away. Her body, still slightly unstable from the alcohol, tumbled forward landing hard on the concrete. Looking over her shoulder her eyes widened at the sight of the hell hound. What were they doing in town? Evelyn said that they were only on campus. The scent of blood hit her hard, Arian's and the hell hounds. The fight only lasts a few moments before the beast ran away with it's tail between it's legs. Whatever buzz the vampire had had was now completely gone. Scrambling to her feet she rushed over to Arian, there was so much blood that she didn't know where the wounds started.

Arian's scream shook her to the core, slipping his arm over her shoulder she put his weight on her and hurriedly made her way back to his apartment which was closer. "Hold on Arian...hold on." she whispered softly to him as she fumbled with the door lock. Once it sprang open she placed the wounded wolf on the couch and ran to the bathroom to grab some towels. Kicking off her shoes she threw open the cabinets of the kitchen until she found a large bowl and filled it to the top with water, never minding that some spilled when she rushed back to his side. "Arian...I need you to stay awake okay...don't go to sleep on me." Eliza peeled back the black t-shirt slowly wincing at the sight of the blackened wound.

Dipping the towel into the water she began to clean his wound, never once caring of the blood that stained her hands. The wound was already turning black and pulse angrily under the towel. Grabbing the ends of the shirt she easily ripped the fabric from his body. Dark black lines had already began to spread around his side, she needed to slow the poison down. Once the wound was clean she unbuttoned her shirt and pulled it from her body before wrapping it tightly around his waist creating a makeshift bandage. Her undershirt was stained with his blood but she didn't care. Right now her only priority was with Arian. Her hands shook while she cleaned his body her mind trying to figure out a way to stop the poison. Elizabetia wasn't going to let him die, no it was her turn to save him now. And save him she would.

For one the moon was not the wolf’s only company; there would be no lonely howl tonight. Arian found he enjoyed the company of the vampire. He found himself entranced by her face and mesmerized by her dark eyes. The stars were only a way in keeping himself from staring at her too much – even wolves knew better than to do that.

Yet all the light heartedness and laughter could only last so long. The two characters of the story only drew danger, or was it only when they were together? After the Hellhound ran off and left the lycan flat on his back he began to pant and sweat. His body was turning black quickly around his stomach where the demonic canine managed to sink his teeth in. A sickening fever overtook the old Viking and he groaned, a growl in his throat that came straight from the wolf within him. There was a glaze of pain over his blue eyes as he stared up at the sky, trying to rope in the wild pain and take control of it but it struck him to the core. He continued growling, a beastly sound coming from his throat that grew louder when he was picked up. All he wanted to do was curl back down to the earth and dig himself a hole in it. He wanted to rub dirt on his wound and retreat back into the woods. As he was moved Arian finally grasped ahold of himself enough to look at Eliza’s face, and there his eyes found some comfort and he stifled the growl down to a whimper.

It hardly registered to the man that they were in his home. He stared at Eliza, trying to focus on reality but his mind was getting clouded. Memories from his past flooded in but for the moment he held on only because he was so intently locked on Elizabetia as she pressed against his stomach. Suddenly the wolf seized and turned to the side to vomit up his own blood. “F-fuck.” He groaned and a cold sweat laced his body – a rare thing for a werewolf. His hands and legs shook as he gripped the couch and closed his eyes tightly, a few dog-like whimpers sighing from his chest. “Det svider.” It hurts the wolf spoke Swedish in a broken voice, losing his grip on the English language.

With most wounds he had earned as a wolf or Viking the pain was taken over by his body’s natural endorphins. They fought now, trying to numb the incredible pain in his side but took longer than expected. He threw up once more before wiping his face off roughly and took a deep breath, then pushed himself up and sat up against the couch. “What happened?” He asked in Old Norse, forgetting that the language wasn’t spoken anymore. The wolf then proceeded to ask if the “foe was dead”, and growled as a hallucination took over him. He wasn’t sure where he was, but in the moment of immense pain Arian thought he was human again and had been attacked. “Why… are you… helping …me?” He asked in the forgotten language and touched her face, then winced and snarled as the black spread even more and he sunk back further into the couch.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Arian's blood flooded the floor, too much blood. She gently pushed him back to lay on his back and placed a cool rag on his head to try and fight down the fever that heated his body. "It's alright Arian..." no it wasn't alright. Arian was lying on the couch bleeding to death and if that didn't kill him that poison that the stupid hell hound injected in him would. She did her best to hold back the tears that pricked the corners of her eyes. Never in her life had she felt so helpless.

The wolf soon started to speak Swedish, a language Eliza knew very little of. But if she had to take a guess it was something about pain. "Just breathe Arian...I'm going to fix it." Untying the makeshift bandage she bit hard into her wrist bringing forth the crimson liquid under her flesh. Vampire blood could heal wounds on a human...perhaps it would slow down the poison a little. Balling her fist to held her wrist over his flesh and let the blood soak into the wound. Her wrist healed itself and she wrapped the bandage over his again, moving out of the way just fast enough to miss the second wave of blood the fell from his mouth.

Again Arian spoke in another language, however this time it was one she had never heard before so she could do nothing but stare at him. He touched her face softly and for a moment she hoped the blood had eased his pain, but instantly he pulled back and snarled as another wave of pain gripped him. Scrambling to find her purse she dumped it upside down and hastily tossed objects to the side before finding the little black phone. Shifting through the numbers she called the only person she knew that could help. The phone rang for a few moments before Evelyn answered.

"Evelyn...it's Elizabetia...you told me before that you had a cure for the hell hound infection....no I'm not hurt a friend of mine is...no he can't be moved he's losing too much blood..." Eliza looked over her shoulder at the wolf and gently placed her hand on his cheek, perhaps the cold temperature of her skin would calm him. "What do you mean you don't have anymore?! Aren't you suppose to be prepared for this? I don't give a rats ass about the other students...how long will it take for another batch to be made...a couple of hours? He doesn't even look like he can make a couple of minutes....no he's a werewolf..." Eliza closed her eyes and bit her lip hard drawing blood from the soft appendage. "I want that antidote in three hours Evelyn...I'll text you his address." Eliza quickly hung up the phone and texted the Dean the address before tossing her phone on the nearest chair.

Leaning over she gently wiped away the sweat from his brow and placed the cold rag on his head. "It'll be alright Arian...I promise."

There were very few moments in life where Arian admitted to being in pain. Normally he would have bitten down and forced a stoic expression, but in the moment he was lost. He felt helpless, which was not a becoming feeling to the old Viking. He felt the memory of his past fade in and out, and he vaguely knew he wasn’t in his right mind. He mumbled here and there in Norse, but stared at the woman who was helping him with glazed over eyes. In his moments of sanity he wondered if this was the end for him, but thankfully the hallucination kept him calm. He didn’t even realize she was bleeding, too.

She was a beautiful maiden. Where had she come from? Women didn’t look like her in his village. They were all so pale and boring, but she was beautiful. “You’re beautiful.” He told her hoarsely in old Norse as she threw something across the room and he only assumed it was a rock or burnt bread. Oh well, she didn’t have to be a good cook since she was so beautiful. He relaxed his face but breathed heavily when she put her petite hand on his forehead. “You’re cold.” Was she ill? The searing pain in his abdomen kept the wolf anchored to the couch, but it didn’t mean he couldn’t be charming. He took her hand and kissed her knuckles, only to let go of it to close his eyes in a wince and hiss at the pain as the black reached deeper inside him little by little.

He must have been in a battle. Yes, that was it. He had been in a battle in a foreign land and this maiden was rescuing him. He had to survive so that he could boast the story over the fire the next time he went with the Vikings. Another growl emitted from him and he felt strange making such beastly sounds, but blamed it on the horrible wound he had. What the hell had done that? Pain ripped over his body again and he reached out and grabbed the woman by her hips, gripping them as he clenched his jaw and breathed harshly. Her cool touch had felt so good, so the wolf pulled her closer and down onto him. Her entire body was as cool as her hands, and as he pulled her onto him he felt relief from the fever that heated his body. Instead of obeying any sort of decency he rested his head on her shoulder and pulled her close enough that her cold body would touch his burning skin and bring him the smallest amount of comfort.

That comfort brought him back to reality enough to remember the pain, but also remember who she was. “Eliza.” He growled and tried to slow his hot breath against her flesh. “Are you hurt?” Had he been successful keeping the hellhound from her?

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Elizabetia hated feeling this way, conflicted, lost, helpless. She gently ran her knuckles over his cheeks and hummed softly. When she was human her mother would sing to her as a child. She didn't remember the words any more but she remembered the tune. Gently moving his bangs from his forehead she pressed her lips to the heated skin. Elizabetia by nature was a calm and collected woman for the most part, even when Anka had her accident she didn't bat an eye lash. But with Arian, she was in a rush unsure what to do or what to say.

She didn't understand him when he spoke, it was Norse a language that was long forgotten. But by the look in his eyes he was probably hallucinating. He kissed her knuckles, as if trying to be a charming gentleman. She offered him a soft smile, and a bow of the head as one did in those days.

Eliza removed her hand just long enough to take the now crimson colored water into the kitchen and refill the bowl with icy water. However she didn't expect the viking man to grab her and pull her on top of him. The vampire instantly went ridged. The bowl of water now lay in a puddle on the floor. Eliza pressed her hands on the arm of the couch to keep herself up. "A...Arian..." her voice cracked slightly on his name, her cheeks were the same color as the blood on the floor. But as she looked upon his semi-relaxed face she gently ran her fingers through his hair and rested her head on the arm of the couch.

When her name fell from his lips she leaned up to look at him, "I'm fine...you were bitten by the hell hound. Evelyn is brewing up an antidote...I gave you some of my blood to try and slow the poison though I don't know how much it will help." she swallowed hard and fought the urge to moan as his hot breath danced across the sensitive part of her neck and shoulder. "I'm not going anywhere...I promise."

Most of his very long life Arian had been able to avoid Hellhounds. They had been released a few times over the centuries that he lived, but he managed to stay far away. The tales of the creatures had not eluded him, however, and he faintly knew that something was very wrong. Was this something he could snap back from? In his moments of sanity he felt the end was coming, but hallucinations brought him comfort. He felt lost, like a young man who had been injured for the first time and didn’t have his mother to patch him up.

At least she was all right. The wolf closed his eyes briefly and he sighed against her skin. If he died now it wouldn’t be in vain since she was okay, but it couldn’t hurt to wish that the Hellhound was dead and sent back to where it came from.

Another hallucination took over the wolf and he began to picture himself in Russia. There were few times where he lived as a human while his pack was alive, and he saw himself in Russia though the temperature was far from it. He blinked hard, his heart racing in his chest as he looked around. “My pack… where is my pack?” He asked the strange woman in fluent Russian. He moved to sit up but grimaced as his stomach shot a pain through to his spine and every organ on the way. The wolf growled and panted, his chest heaving and lifting Eliza with every breath.

It would be some time before he came out of various hallucinations. First he was in Russia, then Italy and asked her where his horses were. Were they safe? He then struggled with a painful hallucination of being on the run, and flipped Eliza onto the couch below him with his hands on either side of her to prop himself up. After that sudden movement he whimpered and whined like an injured dog and laid on top of her, resting his head on the couch arm and his nose against her neck. It may not have been appropriate, but his mind was lost to what was acceptable and what wasn’t in the painful moments.

Finally he came around again and remembered what she had said by some miracle. “There is no antidote for a bite…” He spoke slowly, feeling the pain wrap around his waist and ribs as black crept up further on his chiseled body. He could taste blood in his mouth but swallowed it back down with a hard gulp. “Tell me a story.” The words were a whisper as he closed his eyes to rest, just for a little while.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Where is my pack? Eliza sat up some and stared at him wide eyed. "Arian...your pack isn't here." she replied in her native tongue. It felt strange to be speaking it again, especially to Arian who was in the middle of a hallucination. "Lie still, you'll only bleed more if you move." which was the last thing that she needed was for him to bleed out before Evelyn got there. Looking at the dainty watch on her wrist she saw that it was nearly five in the morning. Time flies when you're trying to save someone's life it would seem.

Just as she was about to get off of him he flipped her over and pressed her against the cushions of the sofa. She let out a startled scream and stared up at him. He laid down on her, if she were human his weight would have crushed her but as a vampire it was nothing. She wrapped her arms around his neck petting his head softly and whispering to him in Russian since it was the closest thing to she knew to Swedish and/or Norse.

"Yes there is Arian...it's on it's way I promise you...you're going to be fine." He had better be fine, if that cure wasn't here within the hour there would be hell to pay make no mistake about that. Evelyn would wish the hell hounds had killed Elizabetia instead she had already lost one person she cared about she wasn't about to lose another one. "Just close your eyes and focus on my voice...okay..." Eliza ran her fingers through his hair softly her blunt nails scraping against his scalp. His request took her back a little, she wasn't much of a story teller, and they had spoken of her life so there was nothing more to tell him. She knew of one fairy tale that maybe he would like, clearing her throat she spoke softly near his ear. "Once Upon A Time, there lived a beautiful queen, who longed for a child...one who's skin was as white as the winters snow, lips red as blood and hair as black as a ravens wing..."

If his pack was not there where were they? Had they been lost in the snowstorm last night? His light eyes looked to search for a window, confused at the lack of chill in the air. What was going on? If only it were easy and he stayed with one hallucination, but soon switched to another and began questioning her of his horses. Throughout the night he had told her very little about his life but now she would learn much more.

Finally he seemed to have a grip on his sanity long enough to realize he had been bitten once again. He laid his head against Eliza and closed his eyes, turning his head once to cough and swallow back more blood. His normally warm skin tone was pale and grey, and his vibrant blue eyes were clouded and exhausted for as long as he kept them open to watch her. It was luck and karma that had a beautiful woman at his side in his final hours. He had done plenty of nice things in his life, so he considered this his parting gift. ‘Congrats on not being too big of an asshole, now you get to stare at a beauty as you die’.

The story of Snow White made a smile crease his pained face and he closed his eyes. He thought to tell her that she was Snow White, but she had a carmel glaze over her skin. Yes, she had such lovely skin. Arian gazed at her a few moments more before he was unable to keep his eyes open any longer and closed them. A deep sigh slipped out of him, and he wouldn’t be able to open his eyes again. There was no strength left in him. Just enough concentration to hear her voice until it faded out, and even the knock at the door went unheard by the old wolf.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Eliza finished her tale and looked at the sleeping male on top of her. Well this was a first. She continued to stroke his hair thankful that he was at some kind of comfort though she didn't like how his breathing had slowed. After a few moments, just when she herself was about to fall asleep, she heard a loud knock on the door. Gently lifting the wolfman off of her tiny form she laid him on the couch and ran to the door, not caring on bit that she looked like she had just committed murder. Pulling the door open her eyes landed on not Evelyn but her secretary. The woman gasped loudly and nearly dropped the vile she was holding.

Eliza quickly reached out and grabbed the glass vile and stared at the secretary. "If this had broke I would have had your head on a stick do you understand me?" the secretary nodded quickly spewing out apologies and a few Hail Mary's before scrambling down the stairs away from the very angry vampire. Running back inside she slammed the door and knelt down beside Arian. "Arian...honey I need you to wake up and take this okay..Arian?" she tapped his cheek softly and shook his shoulders.

Elizabetia listened closely as his heart rate started to slow. Slipping her arm under his shoulders she lifted him up and tapped his cheek harder. "Arian? Can you hear me?! I need you to open your eyes...open your eyes Arian!" Cursing loudly she uncorked the vial and tilted his head back. The glowing liquid flowed out of the vial and into his mouth. Tossing the empty glass on the floor she rubbed his throat to make the antidote go down. "Come on Arian...please wake up..."
