Evelyn felt for her…you know, as much as Evelyn could feel. She was so used of things working out the way she wanted, of being able to fix issues and then move on to the next. If a problem didn’t work out it was usually because she decided it not to work, not because she couldn’t handle the situation. She couldn’t even bloody get her hands on this situation now, much less handle it. How did things get here? How did so much happen in so little time? Was she meant to suffer all of this to receive what she had been wishing for, a way to save her students? Or was this an entirely different path being thrown at her now? Again, she didn’t have much time to process before Freya was up and denying any help. Stubborn girl, she was being reckless, but Evelyn could at least understand why she wanted to leave, a more selfish part of Evelyn wanted her to be gone as well so she wouldn’t have to deal with this emotional madness.
She ran a hand across her forehead in a stressed manner “Freya, please, just-“ She was back to using the Dean voice again but when Freya said goodbye she dropped her hand and stared at her. Where was she going to go? What was she going to do? Was she really not going to stay on campus….and better question, why did Evelyn care so much and was worrying? Freya was an adult, had lived a long life and could make her own damned decisions and live with her own consequences. Evelyn shouldn’t be bothering to wonder what she was going to do, but she did none the less. And then all Evelyn did was blink and she was gone and she sighed heavily and hung her head for a few moments before looking back up to where Freya had been standing. Well, she supposed that was it. She needed to get back to work somehow….but, she did stay there for quite a while just, staring where the woman had once been standing.
