Zeus had not been here that long, a few days at best. It was his first day at work and for the life of him, he could not seemed to find his way around this place. He wasn't sure if it was because he was holding the map wrong, or if it was because he was just a bad navigator but whatever it was, it was truly stressful. To make matters worse he was the sort that hated to be late for anything in general and to be late for his first day on the job was just not setting a good example.

As he was walking along he tried to stop a few students but they all seemed to be a little busy trying to get to class. He let go of a soft sigh as he looked to his map again. He should have asked Victor more questions about this place but alas he had not then again, Victor hadn't stayed around long enough to be asked anything at all.

Looking up from his map he spotted someone else walking by, and he brought up his hand, one finger in the air as he cleared his throat a bit. "Excuse me miss? Could I have a moment of your time, if you aren't terribly busy." He asked in a kind calm manner. This woman looked older than the students, but he really only saw that in the way she carried herself. So many people these days hunched over, like walking through these halls was the worst thing ever.

"I seem to be lost." He added as he dropped his hand and shrugged a shoulder and gave a slight laugh. Here he was a full blown adult, lost in a school... maybe he should have gotten to know the place more instead of just taking the last few days to settle in at his new home.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]"And thus, Caesar was slain by his council and Greece was changed forever." Castielle clicked the little button on the projector changing the image to a slaughtered Caesar on the steps of the Council building. She, wasn't in Greece when Caesar was murdered, she was in Egypt he was a good man, one of the few in that time era and it was a shame he was killed the way he was. Pursing her lips she flicked on the lights and sat the remote down on her desk which was filled with various odds and end gifts from students. "I want a full five page report on what we've just discussed. Have it in by Friday." The loud intercom bell rang through the speakers in her room. Students scrambled to put their things away and hurried out the classroom.

Castielle stood in front of her door in the hallway, her hands laced neatly together as her students filed out the door and mixed with the ocean of students coming here and there. This was her last class for the day, honestly it was the only good thing about teaching college students, you get to make your own schedule. She waved slightly at a few students who she liked and glared at others. The vampire couldn't fully hate being around so many students, some were incredibly bright and gifted others deserved to have their heads on a stick. Children these days were more trouble than good in her opinion.

Smoothing her hands over the form fitting black dress that came half way up her thigh and clung to her like a season skin, she turned to go back into her now empty class room when a voice spoke out to her. Turning slowly she tucked her long curly golden hair behind one ear and looked at the man that called out to her. She hadn't seen him before, but there was something in his scent that was familiar. Straightening her stance she turned fully towards him, her sleek black heels clicking softly on the floor. "Can I help you?" she asked emotionlessly fighting the urge to ignore the man and head back into her room. She was always busy but Evelyn did tell her she needed to be a bit more friendly to the staff.

Castielle's icy eyes notice the map in his hand before he admitted being lost. This place was a maze within a maze. Sighing slightly she took the map from him and looked it over. "This map is outdated...I have a new one in my desk." Turning she walked back into her classroom motioning for him to follow. She inhaled his scent and small spark of recollection hit her brain but she couldn't quite remember from where she had smelt it before. "Are you a new professor to the school?" she asked tossing the old map in the garbage and bending behind her desk to find a new one.

Zeus could tell the woman was eager to either leave for the day or simply be on with her next class which he wasn't sure. Which ever it was he was hoping not to take up to much of her time. Though as he saw her face more his brows lowered a bit with this look on his face as though he was trying to recall her's. Had they met before? Surely he would remember if they had but he couldn't place it. He shrugged it off and simply smiled "terribly sorry to be bothering you, you must be very busy." He spoke up before she came over and took a look at the map he was using.

Leave it to Victor to give him something old and outdated, then again the vampire hadn't been here in well over 100 years. "Well then I guess that explains why I am lost." He chuckled slightly as his hand came up and scratched the back of his neck lightly. He would have to remember to thank Victor for that later for now he just focused on the task at hand.

"No ma'am, I am the new Associate Dean, my first day actually." He replied in a calm manner. He had been afraid that something like this would happen, the whole getting lost on one's first day seemed to be his initiation into the job or something. Zeus had followed the women into her class room, and stood a few feet away from her desk as not to hover to close to be in her way but not to far they couldn't chat for awhile.

That was when he saw her name, wow that sounded... Familiar but from where he couldn't quiet tell. "I'm horribly sorry, I've gone and forgotten my manners. My name is Zeus.... Zeus Riley." He spoke as he realized he had forgotten to introduce himself. He stepped a bit closer and offered a hand in her direction. He had one white gloves, which may seem odd to most but it was his way of not collecting a bunch of information from everything he touched.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Castielle rummaged through her desk trying to find an updated "You are here" map of the school. Honestly they should just plant these things in the middle of the walls so no one could get lost. "No I'm not busy." she said casually closing one draw to open another. Castielle was known for being a cold woman, years of loneliness and depression turned her into such and sometimes she didn't even realize that she was being cold or impersonal. It was just the way she had been for so long. She had gotten quite the reputation of being an Ice Queen. And sometimes the statement was true. She honestly wasn't trying to seem like a cold bitch at this moment.

"Buggar all...I know I had one in here." she said firmly closing the last draw with a huff. The vampire's icy gaze fell upon Zeus at his introduction of Associate Dean. A small smile spread across her ruby tinted lips, crossing her arms firmly under her breast she leaned against the side of her desk, "Ahh, so you're the one I've been hearing about. Evelyn has been talking about you." Evelyn was a strong woman and didn't particularly care for help but since the Hell Hound Incident she must have decided a little help never hurt.

He spoke his name, and Castielle's smile instantly dropped. The world seemed to stop at that moment, breathing in his scent again her mind finally clicked in recognition. A boy and his family, shunned by humans for his gift. They were members of her household, under her protection. A little boy, scared to use his magic, stolen one day from the manor. Zeus was his name....Zeus Riley. But he was a human, there was no way he could still be alive. No possible way. But this was his scent...she never forgot a scent and if it was his descendant he would hold another smell. No, this was him. The boy she vowed to protect. But he didn't seem to remember her, for some reason that irked her. She was not someone easily forgotten. Straightening her stance she slowly reached out her hand, her crimson tipped fingers wrapping slowly around the white gloved hand of Zeus. "I'm Castielle...Castielle Monstique."

Zeus wouldn't go far as to say that the vampire was behaving coldly, but then again he always was the sort to see beyond the appearance that was being given. To him, he just read her as a woman who was ready to move to the next task, and he had happened to get in the way. No harm done though, the vampire seemed more then willing to help him so he was trying to take as little of her time as possible. "Well that is a relief, I hate to be a bother to anyone who has things to do." He smiled. It was true though, he would much rather stay lost then waste someone's time, because time was a precious thing and not many, as far as he was aware, had successfully made themselves immortal.

As she continued to look for the map, Zeus couldn't help but to think to himself about that being the reason why he had gotten such an old one. It seemed like it was hard to come by a new one, but if all else failed he would walk around aimlessly until he found where he was going.

When he was told that Evelyn had been talking about him, a tightness in his chest had formed, because well that meeting had not been the best. It wasn't that it was unpleasant but he wasn't really sure on the type of impression he had left behind. "Oh? Good things I would hope." He replied, but in the back of his mind he was still trying to figure out who this woman was. It nagged at the back of his head that he should know her, that he should remember that face.

"It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance." He smiled as he shook her delicate hand. The cold feeling of her skin seeped through his gloves and that told him that she was a vampire. He still kept going through the memories but still was drawing a blank, then again much of his childhood memories were all but gone at his age. "This is going to sound strange, but have we met before?" He decided to ask. If not he would chalk it up to the woman having a familiar face, but there was just something that told him that was wrong.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Castielle remembered when she brought his family home. She had always had a soft spot for children, of course she found it odd that he never touched anything but when she found out she was more than happy to allow him to practice in her home. When he went missing Castielle searched for him. However she never came up with anything that lead her to him. His parents were devastated and Castielle, though she didn't want to admit it but she did care for the boy that had grown up in her home. She took care of his parents until their deaths and even then she made sure they had a proper burial.

"Actually yes, we have." she said sitting on the edge of her desk. "Though I have to wonder...how it is you don't remember me...I'm not that easily forgotten." Yes she was blowing her own horn but she prided herself on making good impressions...memorable impressions. "However, when you met me you were just a child." Picking up her coffee cup from her desk she blew on the steaming liquid before drinking from the cup. Perhaps his memory was gone, after all he was a human...that just so happened to live for a couple thousand years. "How are you alive exactly...last I saw you you were a boy...thirteen a believe...and human."

Zeus raised a brow when Castielle had indeed confirmed they had met in the past. He was thinking it was when he was an adult, during his many travels, but that wasn't the case. "My apologizes, but my mind is not what it used to be." He chuckled a bit. Those dark years of his life, obsessed with power and dark arts took a toll on him, mainly his memories. Happiness had faded with him, as did the memories of his beloved parents and well this woman too it would seem.

For a moment he stood in silence when it was explained that she knew him as a child. He hand coming up to his forehead rubbing at it lightly as he let got of a sigh. That was a part of his life he had all but forgotten, the wizard couldn't even imagine what it was like to have been a child at this point. "I see." He spoke softly, almost a hint of sadness in his voice. Even after all of these years he missed his parents, and always wondered what happened to them.

"Did....Do...." He sighed again he couldn't even bring up the the sorrow filled topic of his parents. "Did they pass peacefully?" He asked, hoping that she knew what had happened to them and so forth. He didn't want the details he just wanted to know that they weren't cast aside like trash and that would ease his ever wondering mind.

While thankful for the change of subject, Zeus wasn't sure he wanted to admit what had gone wrong back then. It was a very dark time for him, and not one he liked to talk about, not even his belated wife knew the whole story. "A potion, but I'd rather spare the details if you don't mind." He requested politely. The last thing Zeus wanted to do was talk about how many people he had killed for the sheer fact of killing for power. Sure, she may have been a vampire but she had killed for food and survival, he had killed just to kill and was less then proud of that.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Agnes and Calum, they were sweet humans. Whenever Zeus went missing Castielle saw to it that they were well taken care of. They passed ten years later from some illness and Castielle had them buried in the garden of the home she owned then. Now of course it was a museum but the garden was still there and she visited it sometimes when she was there. They were the first humans Castielle actually cared for. Zeus grew into a handsome man it would seem. Definitely not the boy she knew.

Nodding her head slowly she didn't press the issue any further, by the look on his face it was something that he didn't want to talk about it. "Well..." Castielle stood up and smoothed out the end of her skirt, "Since I can't find a map I'll simply lead you to the office." Grabbing her things she turned towards the door and motioned for him to follow. Something in her was pleased that he was alive. When she had found out he had been taken she had went ballistic, but by the time she had gotten to where the had him, he was long gone. It was good to know he was alive now.

Walking out the door she watched for Zeus and made her way down the hallway leading towards the office. Since Dunan's death Castielle had kept to herself, but it was nice to see someone from her past also someone who has lived as long as she had and could understand what she was talking about. "It's good to see you in good health." she said fiddling with a small golden locket around her neck. "You've grown very well."

Zeus had lost all of his innocenece after bein ripped from Cas's home and was not something he liked to talk about. He was more then thankful when she didn't try and pull more out of him, could be the topic of conversation for another day just not today. "I would be most thankful." He replied after she gave the offer to walk him there. It would stop him from getting lost and maybe even stop the dean from nearly taking off his head again.

The wizard followed the vampire after she gathered her things, it would seem she was done for the day. He smiled lightly as he walked along side of her "Thank you m'lady, it's good to see you once again as well." He may have no remembered her personally but he never forgot the fact that the woman had taken in his family from the streets. "I have grown very much since we've last met but never aged a day after 49." He chuckled slightly it was of to think that his age was frozen but the years kept going by.

"How have the years treated you? It's been what, over three thousand years since we last saw one another." He inquired he was rather interested to know how the years had treated her.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]She walked in silence down the now empty corridors of the school. They passed different classrooms full of students and their teachers. Castielle couldn't for the life of her find anything to talk to him about. She didn't want to pry into his personal life since in all honesty she had no right too. He had a personal life as much as she did and probably didn't feel like telling his lives story to a woman he doesn't even remember. Her fingers nimbly played with the locket that rested above her breast. He had given it to her as a present, one of the first things he managed to conjure himself. It was one of the few things she still had from her previous life.

Looking at him out of the corner of the eye, power rolled off of him in waves. Normally she was uncomfortable around wizards or any being with magic, they were the reason her Duncan was now dead and buried in her garden. But she didn't fear him, very few things scared her in her long lifetime. Clearing her throat she ran her fingers through her long curly golden hair, "What made you come here? I'm sure there are much more interesting places in the world than here." this wasn't exactly Buckingham Palace.

She smiled at his question, "Time is not a friend I'm afraid. I've been on my own for some time...my fiancee died three years ago killed by a dark witch who wanted his soul. Since that time I went traveling until Evelyn called me to come teach at the University. I've been here ever since." She had been here for almost a year now since then nothing good has happened, first with hell hounds and now with Caspian. It was as if God had something out for her. She pressed the button on the elevator going down to the lobby, it was a straight shot from there.

Zeus didn't really know what to tell the female vampire, he was almost nervous to speak around her. Part of him feared he would spoil the memories she had of him as an innocent child, that it would make her regret taking in him or his parents. He hoped their souls rested peacefully and that one day he could finally visit the grave, if they had been buried that is. Still one thing he never forgot was an object and out of the corner of his eye he caught the vampire fiddling away with something in her fingers.

His attention pulled from it as he was asked what brought him here. "A dear friend, one in which I owe my very sanity and graditude towards. He found me during dark time and taught me what it was to be a true wizard and showed me taught me to have the patience of a saint. I believe he is well known around this school, goes by the name Victor." He explained a bit of a long winded speech but that was okay.

As he spoke he kept trying to get a better look at the charm dangling from her necklace it looked so familiar that it irked the back of his mind. "I am sorry to hear about you lose, and I understand the pain you must feel. I lost my wife nearly five years ago and not a day goes by that I don't miss her." He spoke honestly and sighed he would miss her forever and always, that he was certain of.

As Cas pressed the elevator button Zeus finally got a better view of the charm and snapped his fingers and pointed. "I remember that." He smiled the tiny locket pulling up some long lost memories. "I made that for you on your birthday." He was a little surprised that memory hand come from nowhere and that it had not been eaten by the blackness that consumed his mind for so long. "I remember dancing with you and conjured it in between our hands." He smiled brightly a childhood memory he thought he had lost for all eternity had made its way through the smog it would seem.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Ah, Victor. Crazy old man but wise beyond his years. Castielle had only met him once and that was through Evelyn. The man was many years older than she, and Castielle didn't do well in the company of Elders. She herself was pushing four thousand as it was and even she couldn't stand herself at times. There meeting with brief, Evelyn introduced her, Castielle listen to him ramble on about the fundamentals of having humans in the school and praised Evelyn for her decision on allowing it. He was wise...but slightly annoying in her opinion.

"My condolences on your wife." her face was impassive but her voice was soft and sincere. Heart break was bound to happen when you were cursed with immortality. It is a lonely road, one that other vampires tend to tell you before turning you into a vampire. In his case, he was cursed because of a spell in time he might find a way to reverse the effects and she hoped he did. He didn't seem...happy. No, he wasn't the same happy child she had seen all those years ago but something in him seemed broke...or tainted.

The elevator dinged loudly, it's large metal doors opening to allow them passage. The corner of her lip twitched upwards at his recollection of the trinket. "Yes, you were excited when you made it. It's the only gift I still have that has survived the passage of time." Maybe it was because he summoned it through magic that the locket hadn't broken or withered away over time. Whatever the case, she rarely took it off. It brought her luck, or at least it's what she told herself, plus it went with everything she wore. She scanned her ID card over the scanner and pressed the button leading to the lobby. Castielle was not a fan of modern technology, she found it annoying and loud. The only reason she carried a cellphone was because Evelyn asked her too...Castielle was technologically impaired. Something she hates admitting even to herself.

"I must warn you...this school isn't exactly the safest place. There's not a day that goes by that something interesting doesn't happen." Just the memory of the hell hound incident made her skin crawl. Damn beasts, Evelyn had refused to tell her who the culprit was that summoned them, only because Castielle would probably rip their heads from their shoulders. The elevator made a loud squealing noise before jerking roughly. The lights in the elevator blinked rapidly as the elevator jerked again. "What the hell?" The elevator squealed again and made a sudden drop before catching itself with a rough jerk. Her bag dropped to the floor both her hands grasped onto the golden bar on the wall to keep herself up. This...was definitely not good.

Zeus never would have come here had he been made aware of the drama it would have caused. He liked his peace, even if it had been alone in the house where he lost his wife. Though having met Castielle again he was also glad that he came, now that he would older he could at least find a proper way of thanking her for the kindness she had showed his family. "Thank m'lady, my condolences about your fiance as well." He replied. Zeus knew that the loss could not have been easy for anything especially after what both of them had seen over the years.

He smiled as she reminded him a little more about his childhood, but it left him wondering when was the last time he had been excited about anything these days. Sure, he had some enjoyments in his life, but nothing that had felt like conjuring that item as a child. That part of him had been long since dead he imagined, to consumed by blood and hate to ever seep out again.

As they walked into the elevator he swallowed heavily, confined spaces had never been his thing he always feared that these things would break down and he'd get stuck. Still, he stepped inside, and tried to smile as the doors closed. "M'lady, I can assure you that harm is the least of my concerns. I no longer bleed." He explained as he shrugged. His hands stuffed into his pockets as they had grown sweaty, but once the elevator jerked his quickly grabbed hold of the handle and felt his breathing picking up. For the love of god, please don't let this thing break down.

When the elevator made its sudden stop after misbehaving, Zeus had lost his footing and had hit his head upon the rail on the way down. Thankfully he wasn't a bleeder or that impact would have caused a nasty bleeding injury, but instead he was just left holding the back of his head groaning slightly. "Bloody elevators.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]The vampire blinked at his comment, how can one not bleed? Everyone bleeds. Now that she thought about it she couldn't really hear a heart beat. She strained her hearing and after a few seconds finally heard the soft almost non-existent heart beat thumping in his chest. It was very slow, slower than it should be for a human but then again, he wasn't really human now was he. He was immortal, and it would seem the price for human mortality was not bleeding and decelerated heart beats."Well at least you wont be a target for vampires."

Castielle was not a fan of heights...at all. Even though she was a vampire it still hurt like hell to fall from somewhere. People tended to think that vampires couldn't feel pain, how very wrong they were. The elevator jerked again, causing three of the four lights to go out and the fourth one to blink every few seconds or so. Her icy eyes turned towards Zeus whenever she heard something clank against the railing. Which come to find out was his head. Bending down slowly she knelt beside him swaying slightly from the movement of the elevator. "Are you alright?" she asked softly gently running her fingers through his hair feeling for a bump.

The elevator jerked again the ever so frightening sound of something snapping caused Castielle to look up at the ceiling. When was the last time these damn things were inspected! The elevator dropped again however this time it tilted slightly to the left causing Castielle to slide against the wall. It would seem the elevator had fallen off it's track and tilted when the wires had snapped. After a few seconds it came to a violent halt and creaked loudly. The only thing keeping it from taking a very long nose dive was the fact that the elevator was now wedged against the side of the shaft, but not by much. "At least it's stopped...for now.

Vampire had tried in the past to bite him, thinking it would give them the same sort of immortality that he had. It was a curse really, only being able to feel pain but knowing that things would never end. Still, his skin held not a single scar or blemish since taking the potion. Now was really not the time to be talking about that with the elevator acting all weird. It was causing him to panic a bit but he was breathing normally for now.

"I'll be fine just a bit of pain, that's all." He replied as he rubbed at the back of his head. It felt strange to feel her fingers in his hair, but it didn't last long as the elevator decided to move once again, sending him tumbling towards the wall, luckily landing next to Castielle rather than on top of her.

Zeus's heartbeat picked up a bit as he closed his eyes and took in a few deep breaths trying to calm himself. He was okay, he was in an elevator that was falling to its doom, not like it would kill him. He began to speak to himself some sort of calming mantra as he sat there trying not to move. Needless to say even though death would not befall either of them, his fear of small spaces and the fact that he didn't know if the thing would drop again he needed to center himself.

"Lets hope so." he spoke before he continued the calming mantra because it was the only thing that would stop him from doing something stupid, like using darker sides of magic to assure their safety. Well magic in general, no, the more he dabbled with that the more he craved power. Now a days he just tried to stick with what came naturally to him, touching artifacts, it was safer that way.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]Castielle sat up slowly careful of her movements for they made the elevator groan loudly. Reaching into her bag she pulled out her cellphone. Flipping the top she stared at the bright screen. Lifting the phone above her head she searched for a signal but of course it was near impossible when you were sitting in a giant metal death trap. Stairs were definitely the only way she was ever going again to get anywhere in this school.

Looking over at Zeus she gave him a worried look, she could hear his faint heart beat start to quicken, and he began some strange chant. The noisy rumbling of came from the top no doubt another elevator passing beside them. As it neared the elevator vibrated from the movement making another loud squealing sound. Laying back against the wall she sighed and stared at the escape hatch across from them. She could probably crawl across to the hatch but every movement made the wedged elevator slide a little more off the edge of the wall. The last thing she needed was to take a nose dive in an old elevator. It may not kill her but it would hurt like hell, not to mention ruin her dress.

Typing in a text into her phone she sent it to Evelyn, after a few moments it finally went through. Leaning back she looked over at Zeus and patted his arm softly. "It'll be alright Zeus." If she remembered correctly Zeus had a fear of small enclosed spaces. She probably should have remembered that before taking him in the elevator. "Help will be here soon." Hopefully.

Zeus was truly not a fan of small spaces, especially not ones that were wedged and moving ever so slightly. Had it not been for the fact that Castielle was with him, the wizard may have teased the idea longer that this had been a setup by the dean herself. Nope he wasn't going to go there, after all he had been allowed to actually step on campus today. Still, he couldn't help but to feel a little on edge about their current situation.

Part of him desperately wanted to move from the tiny box they were in, but it seemed movement just made it worse so he tried not to do much of that either. While he knew the fall wouldn't kill him, that didn't mean that it wouldn't hurt as he healed back up. Last thing he needed was another repeat of his fall off a bridge.. most unpleasant.

"I know M'lady, but not a big fan of tiny places. Had one too many encounters with coffins underground for my liking." He replied trying to smile but it was hard. He felt hot, panicky even as he sat there just trying to put his mind in a place that was relaxed and peaceful. His mind still wandered, back to times of using magic for personal gain, but sure this was not the case. He would be saving someone would he not? Saving Castielle had nothing to do with saving himself, or at least that was what he kept telling himself anyways.

Maybe just a safety net, some sort of beam to hold the elevator in place... it wouldn't take up that much magic and he would be doing it with the purpose of saving them... her... it would have to be for only her.

He slowly brought a hand to his chest, taking a light hold of his shirt and moved it back and forth carefully trying to create a slight breeze that could cool him down. Oh, he was ready for those people to be here, or he would end up doing something most stupid soon.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]"You don't have to call me that you know. You're no longer in my services. You may call me Castielle if you wish." No one addressed her as M'lady anymore, or Mistress for that matter. Gone were the days were she lived in lavished manors surrounded by servants and hostess of glamorous parties. As time went on she no longer cared for such things. She owned a small cottage outside of the school grounds, she lived by herself and rarely entertained anyone. She found no joy or comfort in anything anymore. As time went on she only began to feel more and more hollow, more empty. Through the course of her life, she had tried to find meaning, a sense of belonging and at first she thought she found it though the company of others. But time only took those people from her.

She watched as her friends grew old and died while she stayed the same, lovers came and went and the few she truly loved were now dead. She only had a handful of fledglings left in the world, Evelyn was the only one she truly kept in contact with and had it not been for her she would probably just put herself to sleep until the end of time. Immortality was not a gift, no matter how people tended to dress it up with bows and glitter, immortality was lonely, it hurt and is a curse. Castielle felt as though she was completely cut off from the world, with nothing to tie her down and keep her from flying away.

If they could make it to the elevator shaft, they could simply climb their way out, however the more they moved the further the elevator moved from the only thing keeping it from falling. Sure she could make it, she was fast enough, but Zeus wasn't. Castielle wouldn't pretend to know anything about magic, she tended to stay away from things like that but she did know that magic was seductive and dangerous. Perhaps this...taint she saw within him was from magic. Any normal wizard or witch would have already used some form of magic to get themselves out of a situation like this but Zeus hadn't lifted a finger. "Are you sure that the tiny space is the only thing troubling you?" she asked softly tilting her head to look at him.

"Sorry M'lady, I mean Castielle, tis an old habit, a sign of respect really." He replied, because he didn't want Castielle to think that he was doing it because he somehow found himself beneath her. No, it was rather different from the days of his childhood where had he not said those things it could have brought about punishment. Now it was just about showing that he respected women as his equal and usually called them M'lady until told otherwise.

Though, admittedly he was surprised he could even keep up with the pleasantries seeing as many would call this a near death experience. Normally by now he went into survival mode, but with him feeling like the walls were closing in on him, his first concern was for that of the vampire sitting next to him. Sure, he could use his magic to get out of here, but what of the professor? He had already been warned that any suspicious activity would not be taken lightly by the dean so it was best to refrain from magic at all.

Then again, not using magic could also be taken the wrong way but at this point he didn't know which route to choose. Use it and potentially piss the dean off further than she already was, or not use it and piss the woman off more. That on top of the fact that magic was not a one trick pony, a little here and there could result in a downward spiral for control and power. He thought it best not to go that route especially seeing his rather dark past.

"To be honest, it is not the only thing but I assure you that I will be okay once we are out of this tiny space." He replied, he didn't want to get into the great debate of whether or not to use magic, though he was surprised that Castielle was not using her own speed to get out of here. "You should escape through the hatch, you are fast enough, I will be fine." He added, maybe if she was safe he would not feel as guilty about using a trickle of magic to save himself... maybe being the key word there.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]If she had been with anyone else she probably would have already been out of this death trap. In the past few years Castielle had stop caring about anyone other than Evelyn. Humans in her opinion were a waste of space, greedy, arrogant and annoying. They weren't worth the air they were breathing. True some were better than other but not by much. The world was corrupted, nothing like when she was younger, when humans had a since of honor. No these humans were prideful and greedy. Nothing was ever good enough for them, they always needed more.

However, in this situation Zeus was with her. Even though time had passed, three thousand or so to be correct, Zeus was still under her protection until such time of his death. Others may have forgotten their honor but she had not. She always honored her deals no matter who they were made with. She couldn't escape and leave him here, it didn't matter if he would survive or not. The thought of him falling down a dark elevator shaft made her uncomfortable. "I'm not going anywhere. I can tell you're uncomfortable, being alone in a tiny death box will only make you more uncomfortable and no doubt will cause you do to do something you might regret." patting his hand with hers she leaned her head back against the metal wall and sighed, "I'm staying right here. I have my honor to uphold you know."

There was obviously a reason he wasn't using his magic, otherwise he'd be long gone out of here but for some reason he would rather have a panic attack then use it, so until help arrived she would stay with him. Closing her eyes she started to hum softly her voice echoing off the metal walls. It was an old Sumeria lullaby, she didn't remember the words but she remembered the melody. It always seemed to calm Evelyn when she was upset so maybe it would help him relax slightly.

Zeus was going back and forth in his head on whether or not to use his magic. It would save them surely, but at what cost? He was didn't want to risk pissing off the dean, but at the same time didn't want to risk them both large amounts of pain. For the love of all things holy and good why did something so simple have to turn into something so complicated. He probably wouldn't be so hesitant if it wasn't for his first encounter with the dean, but he refused to speak ill of the woman.

His attention was pulled from his thoughts as Castielle spoke of not leaving because he was uncomfortable. It was true he would probably hate this much more being alone, hell he was starting to sweat, so obviously this wasn't his favorite place right now. "My biggest regret would be you staying here and getting hurt." He replied calmly, because he knew that it was probably pointless to fight with the woman. She was older than he was and had a right to make up her own mind, still he spoke how he felt.

"I would not fault you for getting out of here, so your honor would remain intact." He almost wanted her to live him there, then maybe he this internal struggle about what to do. If he was merely using magic on himself, then no harm would come to the vampire right? Then it was back to that whole personal gain thing. Maybe he should just use his magic to save her.... Oh hell, Zeus was far to worked up to even do a spell properly right now.

He took in a deep breath trying to slow his heart rate and clear his mind. Tiny box of hell is what this was, surely these things got inspected often enough to avoid these sorts of things right?

The wizard was so lost in his internal thoughts that he failed to notice the melody, but that didn't seem to stop him from humming along. He did those sort of things all the time, it stemmed back to the days where he would sit in a cellar for days, weeks, sometimes months at a time to try and recreate that blasted potion. He closed his eyes as he hummed along and was actually starting to calm down.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]It would seem chivalry wasn't dead. His words formed a smile on her lips, one that she couldn't help but show. Chuckling lightly she turned her gaze up to the elevator hatch. "I've been through much worse than an elevator dropping. Don't worry about me." She hadn't had anyone worry about her in a long time she didn't need anyone to do it now. The elevator groaned again, as if crying out at the strain it was holding. Her hand subconsciously grabbed onto Zeus's out of reflex. There was a slim chance that she could make it to the hatch and grab onto the ledge before the elevator fell with him in tow. A very slim chance.

Even though he said he was immortal, she couldn't help but look at him as a fragile human. Imagining him at the bottom of a elevator shaft under piles of metal and glass made her stomach do back flips. Slowly rising to her feet she held onto the bar behind her, the elevator groaned again and slipped slightly off it's wedged place. The light above them flickered this was not what she had had planned for the day to end. A bubble bath, a glass of wine yeah, falling four stories down an elevator not so much. "Evelyn...any moment would be wonderful for the rescue crew." she whispered flinching as the elevator slipped again. Her chest constricted as the world moved in slow motion. She felt the elevator shift off the ledge that held it right side up. Her stomach dropped harshly, her elegant golden hair flowing in front of her face as the elevator dropped.

Grabbing Zeus's hand she pulled him close to her, wrapping her arms around him. Her back was pressed against the handle bar and side of the elevator. Closing her eyes she buried her face in his neck and held her breath, (though she didn't breathe). She braced for the impact of the elevator colliding with the bottom of the shaft, this wasn't going to feel good.

Zeus was a gentlemen above all else, and if that meant getting the woman to safety before himself then so be it. Though it would seem that both of them were putting the other before their own safety. It was enough to make him chuckle lightly as she spoke, if only because he knew that arguing would do no good at that point. "At least we'd have company..." Though he stopped speaking once the elevator groaned again, the sound told him that this was not the type they wanted to hear and Castielle seemed to feel the same way. He held the woman's hand gently, if only because he didn't have it in him to hold it any tighter, fear of hurting a lady was always on his mind.

As he heard the woman plead for some sort of help, Zeus realized that it wasn't coming if it wasn't there yet. He was lucky that thought crossed his mind when it did because another horrible sound came from the elevator as it moved once more. Before he knew it he felt Castielle's arms around him, as she braced for impact. That was when Zeus really snapped out of it. This was stupid, holding off on magic for fear of the dean's reaction. He didn't hold back any longer though, not with the thought of Castielle laying injured in a bed waiting to heal.

Zeus's arms wrapped around her tightly as he muttered something under his breath. It was in an old language, hardly used to this day, but it was what all his old spells were written in.

Just before the Elevator hit the bottom of the shaft the two were taken from the death trap in a swirl of black smoke. The landing was far from perfect, and they ended up outside in the grass, and they weren't exactly standing anymore. Zeus lay on his back with Castielle on top of him because of how they were holding one another.

When the pain didn't come, Zeus slowly opened one eye, and then the other before breathing a sigh of relief. At least the spell worked, but that was his last concern of the moment. "Are you okay?" He asked as he brought a hand up and brushed the woman's hair from her face, to make sure she was unharmed.

[Only admins are allowed to see this image]The elevator screamed loudly as it tumbled down the shaft, sparks flying from metal contraption as it flew. Castielle felt Zeus's arm wrap around her and before she knew it an odd feeling swept over her. The scent of magic assaulted her senses making her light headed. Then as quickly as it arrived it left just as fast, her body tilted, the uncomfortable pressure of the elevator and Zeus's body were gone and instead she felt as if she were laying on something. The vampire slowly opened her eyes, Zeus gently moved her hair from her face and her soft blue eyes locked with his. Opening her mouth to speak she found herself completely speechless. She told herself it was because of the near painful experience she and Zeus almost had that she couldn't form words.

"I....I'm fine." she finally forced herself to say. Looking away from him and standing on wobbly legs. Had he teleported them out of the elevator? He must have, hence the weak legs and the slowly occurring head ache. Several students and staff had started gathering at the entrance of the school, obviously where the elevator had fallen and crashed. She offered her hand to Zeus to help him off the ground and smiled at him. "It would seem I am in your debt Mr.Riley." she said softly helping the wizard off the ground. Straightening out her outfit she cleared her throat and turned towards the school. "Come along...the office is this way. We'll take the stairs this time." Bending down she picked up her bag which happened to be next to them and motioned for him to follow. After this she was gonna need a strong drink...about five of them.

When Evelyn had received the text she had been worried, but hardly panicked. The elevator had a few times in the past malfunctioned and got stuck, and with some tinkering it was fixed and running again. The people inside had to freak out for an hour or so but there was no harm done. She had immediately called the maintenance crew and told them the situation and that they needed to fix it quickly. She knew Castielle at that moment was not pleased at all what’s so over about being stuck in the metal box so she wanted it dealt with faster than normal. She didn’t know an ounce about technology, so when the maintenance crew called her to tell her they couldn’t fix it some certain way and needed to climb into the shaft….she didn’t know, some blabber. She had simply snapped at them to get it done already.

Some more time passed and she began to get aggravated. Getting up she went to her office door and threw it open, going over to her secretary “Will you find out if the damned elevator has been fixed yet?” She snapped only to pause as she saw a horrified expression on her secretary’s face who held the phone to her ear. “What?” She asked irritably as the woman looked at her with her jaw dropped “It crashed” She whispered and Evelyn blinked at her impatiently “What crashed?” Her secretary slowly put down the phone “The elevator…it crashed”. Evelyn stared at her for a few moments “Castielle was on the elevator” She told her as if that would suddenly make it impossible for the elevator to have crashed. Her secretary just frowned “They were climbing down to it when it just…crashed”. Evelyn covered her mouth in horror “Oh God”. Was Castielle…could she survive it?! Evelyn told herself she could, not well but she could…but what if she didn’t? She couldn’t even bear the thought. She couldn’t.
