Oh how Freya would have loved to provide an answer to that question, but she knew it would come out as nothing but meows at this point. She knew exactly why the demon had done what he did, or she had her suspicions anyways. All of it could be explained later, if and when they got out of here. It was just a matter of finding the proper path which would not be easy, because lets face it this was someone idea of a good time.

As they walked along, Freya kept her ears and eyes open, in order to sense any dangers that would be coming their way. Every now and then she would look up to Evelyn and see that look of frustration upon her face. How she wanted nothing more than to console the vampire, tell her that they would make it out of here even if Freya didn't know they would. It was hard walking along side her and not being able to talk at least then the silence wouldn't be so deafening.

It would seem that the pair somehow found the right path because a growl came from the silence of the halls that made the hair on Freya's back stand on end. 'You're going to like this one kitty.' Freya's ears perked as she heard the voice once again, it seemed close... closer than she would have liked and she wasn't sure if it was because it came from the source of the growl or if it was from something else. Still it caused Freya to let out a feline growl as she lowered herself into an attack position. She may have been small but she had claws and whatever was making that sound would not get them without a fight.

Freya’s reaction to the growl made her jump, her nerves severely on edge. She grit her teeth and after looking around just kept going forward with a stern expression “Let us keep going”. She would not be intimidated and not be afraid, whatever was in here would not stop her from protecting the people of this school. Damn it if she had to make an exit she would try because she thought this was a ridiculous game that she did not want to be a part of. She swore when she found out who was doing this she would have them tortured so badly they would beg for death and she wouldn’t give it to them until they just killed themselves. She was tired of people messing with her and the university and putting people in danger. Finally the hall they were walking down had a left and right turn and Evelyn paused, looking down the left hallway…before feeling a chill go up her spine and she turned quickly to look down the right hall…and froze.

Sitting a few feet down the hall was a terrifying creature. It had a humanoid body with black silky bare skin, muscular in a disfigured way. Long claws were on its animal like hands and it was crouched down on the ground like a perched gargoyle, but its body was not the worst of it. Its large head was rows and rows of teeth, like a giant venus mouth trap with far too many openings, it didn’t even appear to have eyes or a nose. It just sat there and Evelyn stared “I know that demon”. Years ago when Victor had been the Dean she remembered the chaos of the demon, it had killed several people before Victor had injured it then locked it away…but no one had known where, not even Evelyn, he had just told her he had handled it. She took a careful step back “Run” She whispered as it started to stand up “RUN!”

Claws nearly at the ready, Freya waited to see what was coming for them but nothing moved. It wasn't until Evelyn started walking again, did Freya move from the attack position that she had been in and walked along side the vampire once more, still on high alert. That sound didn't come for no reason at all it was a warning, and the fae knew that, she just didn't know where it had lurked and why.

When they got to the halls, Freya looked right as Evelyn had look left and saw the hideous looking creature first and swallowed hard even if it wasn't seen. While she would like to say her first instinct was to run, it wasn't, Freya wanted nothing more than to rip into the creature that stood there even if she was at a disadvantage. Instinctively, the fae went back into an attack position, not willing to just roll over at the sight of it, hell Freya was to pissed right now to back down.

She was about to pounce after it when she heard Evelyn say run, and normally would have argued but seeing as they shouldn't be separated, for now Freya would oblige. It wasn't until the beast stood up that Freya actually understood why the running was required. That thing was huge, and could easily have stepped upon Freya and caused a great deal of damage.

Freya's feet slipped a bit beneath her as she tried to regain her footing against the floor, and nearly tumbled as she took off running. It was a difficult thing to run, keep track of Evelyn and not run into anything all at the same time but that is exactly what Freya was trying to do. So help the demon if she found them, she would rip them apart with her little feline fangs piece by piece till it was dead.

She knew neither of them were strong enough against this creature, most wouldn’t be. It preferred to feast off fae, at least that was what Victor had told her and that had been all of its victims before but that didn’t mean anyone else that wasn’t fae was safe. Too many people had come out here…it sickened her to imagine how many of those people had already been killed by it. She glanced back and down to the floor to make sure Freya was running with her and felt a small bit of relief, but it didn’t last. She could see the creature wasn’t behind them anymore and she suddenly stopped herself and looked forward to see it right infront of her. It had crawled along the walls and dropped down in her path, standing there for the briefest of moments before lunging at her. She gasped as it pushed her back against the wall so powerfully it snapped her spine, temporarily rendering her unable to move as her body quickly tried to heal from the injury. It’s razor sharped mouths stared her down and even though she did not hear it speak or make a sound she knew it was aware she was Dean, she could just feel its hatred. She may not have been the one to trap it, but she was close enough.

She simply glared at it, not giving it an ounce of pleasure of fearing it. It then suddenly snapped his head down and bit as her shoulder, practically consuming that whole part of her body with it’s disgusting mouths. Her body jolted violently and she began to shout in pain but bit it back and tried to push it away, but barely budged it as it ate away at her violently.

Freya could tell the beast was gaining on them but wasn't paying attention as to how. As soon as it landed before them, Freya put on the breaks but it didn't stop her from sliding a bit as she did. Stupid fur just making this more complicated than it needed to be. While the sliding had proved to save the fae, cause she had ended up in a blind spot, what came next was less then pleasing to the fae's ears as a scream came from Evelyn's lips.

A rage filled the feline fae as she saw the creature latch hold of Evelyn and bite into her. That caused Freya to fight against the magic being used on her, not to get into her human form, oh no that would only make this issue worse. Instead she took the form of a large white tiger, colors still remained the same however as black stripes were replaced with purple ones and eyes were black as night. 'No, you shouldn't be able to do that!' He spoke but Freya didn't listen, just pounced, large tiger claws digging into the beast back as deep as she could get them before ripping them back.

Freya had never been so angry in all her life, but no one hurt Evelyn, especially not to the point of trying to eat her like some sort of appetizer. Freya didn't hesitate to dig her back claws into the beast as well, if it wanted a meal then Freya did too and soon her large mouth latched into the beasts shoulder and bit down. One way or the other that beast would let go of Evelyn, Freya would make sure of that.

Evelyn was in such pain she had no idea even what she was thinking, but they were certainly not good thoughts. It was just ripping away at her flesh and bone, devouring her shoulder with glee. It could have gone for a killing blow, straight for the neck, but it seemed to be enjoying itself. It wasn’t just hunting for a quick kill, it wanted to play and it made it far more grotesque but far more vulnerable. It left time for an attack to be formed. The creature’s head moved away from Evelyn’s shoulder and turned, swiping out with one of its clawed hands at Freya’s tiger form and made a sickening hissing sound of frustration. Evelyn dropped to the ground, her hands going up to keep her from hitting the floor like a lifeless fish but her arm with the injured shoulder was useless and she grunted as she tipped to her side and rolled onto her back, growling in pain. Her shoulder had been gnawed down to none existence, blood pooling under her but she could feel the wound pulse as it started to stitch back together.

The demon slashed and lunged at Freya, trying to grab at her mouth with its teeth and injure with its claws but it had been taken quite by surprise by the fae’s shift into a larger feline. The tiger’s size matched close to its own and it was apparent it thought the fight would be easier than it was turning out to be before it ended up stepping back, climbing up the wall and disappearing into the ceiling…for good, one could only wish, but it had simply, retreated to regain its baring’s and come back with a far better tactic. It was angry now…so far no one had surprised it like Freya did and it was not pleased.

Freya wanted to rip into the demon more, rip it to shreds like paper in a shredder. She wanted to make it bleed enough that there was no chance of healing and because of that her claws scratched into the beast as much as possible. She didn't even give it much of a chance to counter her attack because of her anger and was about to strike again when the beast scurried away up the wall. Freya would have gone after it too had the overwhelming scent of Evelyn's blood not filled the heavily breathing fae's nose.

It would come back, Freya knew that and next time they may not be so lucky because the beast would be ready for Freya's larger form. This was not the time to worry about that though, as Evelyn was hurt and needed to feed if she was to recover fast enough.

Walking over to vampire and nudged the vampire carefully with her head before holding out a paw near the vampire's mouth, trying to tell her to take some blood. The faster Evelyn got back on her feet the better, but it was a sign that the two of them were headed in the right direction. Plus, Freya had a feeling that the only reason she was still in this form was because of all the anger she held, no doubt that would change once her anger calmed down.

She looked to Freya and swallowed hard, gritting her teeth sharply to try and keep the pain back and not make a sound. When Freya offered a paw she shook her head and turned her face away . She knew it was Freya but…taking blood from her in animal form was just something Evelyn for some reason didn’t feel comfortable with. She had never liked feeding from animals in the first place and also it was a tiny bit of stubbornness because she didn’t like being weak and drinking Freya’s blood would admit she was weak. Instead she just lied there for a few moments for her shoulder to heal enough that she could sit up, her body shaking some from the pain but she would fight through it. She had too, there were no other options. “I’m fine” She all but gasped out and slowly stood up, leaning a hand against the wall to support her for a few moments “I’ll be fine…we have to keep going” She panted before gritting her teeth again and slowly walking again.

Her wound kept healing, slowly but it was healing and that’s all she cared about. She could keep going even injured, she didn’t want to take blood or stop even for a second, they had to keep searching for a way out. As she started moving again there was another piercing scream, but this time it sounded like a male. She growled, grinding her teeth together. The demon would pay…it would pay. She glanced to Freya and frowned “Don’t do that again. You could have gotten killed. I may be Dean but I am meant to protect you, not the other way around. Next time you just run. One of us needs to get out of here”She told her sharply.

A disapproving groan came from the feline as Evelyn refused to take any of her blood. This was not the time to be stubborn and if anything, Freya knew that they would be at a disadvantage should that... when that creature attacked them again. If she had been in her human form she would have formed Evelyn to drink but being like this there was little she could actually do about it now. Instead she just stayed close to Evelyn as she sat up, making sure that if the vampire fell, Freya could be there to catch her.

'You won't be so lucky next time kitty.' Freya's ears lowered again, she hoped next time she would kill the damn thing, show this bastard who he was messing with. If she had all of her powers like he did she would show him exactly what she could do.

When Evelyn spoke of not doing that again, Freya just shook her head in disagreement she was not about to let the woman die, and there was nothing Evelyn could do about that. They both needed to make it out of here alive, or just Evelyn, the school needed the vampire more than needed Freya and Freya knew that. Hell, Freya would purposely put herself in the path of that beast again, if only to get Evelyn out of this place. With that in mind she was thankful that the pair couldn't speak right now as they would likely only argue about who should make it out of the maze and who shouldn't. For now Freya simply kept her focus on Evelyn, watching for any sign that the woman may fall or pass out, after all Freya had no idea how much blood the vampire had lost at this point.

If it had been any other situation where their lives weren’t in danger and Freya was stuck as a cat, Evelyn would have been very smug and a bit amused that Freya could do nothing to argue with her but she was sure in Freya’s head she was probably ranting that Evelyn refused to take any blood but she couldn’t do anything about it. She was thankful though for Freya worrying about her and staying close to her but Evelyn was too used to do everything on her own and getting the least amount of help possible. So she just kept one hand against the wall for a couple of minutes until the wound had healed enough that it was simply uncomfortable then outright painful and she started walking on her own and far faster, still set on the fact that they would get out…well, at least she would make sure Freya did.

When Freya shook her head she couldn’t say she was surprised but she growled at her, still walking but gave her a harsh look “There is no saying no. I am Dean, I make the decisions and if I say you run and leave me behind you do it!” She may have been a bloody injured mess but she still threw power into her words “People may be more than willing to let others get hurt before me but I am not alright with that. I will not let you get killed for me. End of it. You’ll do as I say if the situation calls for it” She gave her one more look before looking away and just letting her eyes sweep everywhere, trying to find some sign they were getting closer to an exit. A painting though made her stop and she stared at it, something in her lighting up “I know this painting. If it’s still attached to the same hallway….” She trailed off and started pressing her hands against the walls, looking for something “It has to be here…maybe if its here it didn’t realize this and isn’t affected by this spell…” She muttered to herself. She then gasped in excitement and suddenly pressed down on one of the stones, a sudden door being thrown open a foot down from them. She sighed in relief “Secret hallway…it leads outside” She grimaced "Hopefully"

Freya had a whole lot that she could say in this situation but lucky for Evelyn, the fae words wouldn't come out as words. There was no chance in hell that Freya was about to let Evelyn throw herself on the proverbial sword. Freya knew that Evelyn was just being stubborn but Freya could be just as stubborn about the situation and wasn't going to just walk along and follow orders like some common house pet. The feline lowered her ears in disapproval as Evelyn ranted on about her position in the school and responsibilities. If Evelyn was that concerned about what was right and wrong then she would see that Freya getting injured was far less worry some then if Evelyn did. Letting a low rumble slip as a sign that Freya would not listen if it meant leaving Evelyn behind in this place, no way no how.

As Evelyn stopped, Freya sat down for a moment, bringing a paw up and scratching lightly at her nose. The blood from the beast had started to dry and was making her nose itchy. Though she did breathe a sigh of relief when Evelyn found a passage that the beast may not know about. That was good at least it would give Evelyn a chance to heal more, even more so giving them a chance to get out of here.

The relief was short lived though, as a sound caught Freya's ears once again. 'Not so fast Kitty, I'm not done with you." Turning her head quickly, Freya saw something moving in their direction quickly. She knew there was no time to argue over who was going into the hallway and who wasn't so she stood on her hind legs quickly and shoved Evelyn through the passage before the demon had sealed it off. Freya's paws landed on the sealed wall, which left her to hope and pray that Evelyn would make it out alive. Now Freya wasn't sure how she was going to get out of here, but that wasn't her biggest concern at the moment, the beast had returned and because of saving Evelyn, Freya was completely vulnerable to the beast's first attack.

When the door opened Evelyn had quickly moved down towards it and peered inside. It was just a dark tunnel, the dank stone and it was pitch black…but she knew the tunnel would lead through the school and out the back, across from the football field. She had only gone down the tunnel once when Victor had shown it to her and many of the other secret passages around the school. She stepped closer to it and could feel it, that the tunnel did not hold the oopressing and dark feeling that the inside of the school did. So her hunch had been right…the demon had not enchanted the secret passages. This was perfect! Her guards could come in through them and get people out and kill the demon, there was also a passage that was in the great hall, they could get everyone out and not let any more people walk out into the halls…

She felt something approaching as well and turned her head as well then to Freya to call her and tell her to hurry and come down the passage with her…but never got the chance. She gasped as Freya pushed her in, the motion taking her so off guard she actually stumbled then turned quickly “What-!” But then suddenly she was gone, sealed off from the hall. “No” The word choked out and she rushed to the door, pushing and pounding on it “FREYA!” She shouted, hitting the stone harder as if it would give way “FREYA!” She screamed as loud as she could, as if the woman on the other side could hear her and give her a sign she was alright. “FREYA! DAMN IT FREYA!” There was no way to open the door again, the only other way was the exit all the way down the tunnel where a lever would open it, that was it. She knew she should be moving on, go warn her guard’s…but she couldn’t move from the spot. Freya would be alright, she’d scare the demon off and open back the door and come down the tunnel…she had too.

That was probably one of the stupidest things that Freya had ever done, aside from a drug overdose. She didn't even have time to predict what the beast would do, before it crashed into her, sending her to the floor. A Painful roar escaped the feline mouth as the beast bit into her side with it's many teeth, but Freya didn't just lay there. Her back claws ripped into the beast's throat causing it to let go, enough so that Freya could get free.

'You didn't think it was going to be that easy did you foolish fae?' The beast spoke to her and Freya's eyes narrowed. So this was what caused all the problems in these halls, no wonder it had tried to silence Freya. 'I misjudged your abilities, I won't make that same mistake again.' The beast snickered in her direction before attacking again.

With her side being injured it was hard to move, but Freya forced herself to fight through the pain. She wasn't about to lay down and die, nope that wasn't her style. As the beast jumped in her direction, Freya did the same and the two caught each other mid air, sending them both to the ground, scrambling to gain footing first. They continued to fight, the beast landing bites, whereas Freya landed claws. Had Evelyn been in there the smell of blood probably would have driven the vampire into a frenzy, as it was the pools were making it difficult to fight as their paws slipped because of it.

Even though her body was riddled with pain, Freya kept fighting if only because she knew that running was no longer an option. Just as the fae was about to give up, and let the beast takes its prize of killing her, when she got an opening she had never expected. The beast had taken a step back to admire the fallen feline, and laughed, exposing his throat and chest. With what little strength the fae had left, She lunged forward, claws ripping into his chest and teeth into the neck ripping the beast open, before falling to the ground.

Freya didn't know what really happened next as her body collapsed against the floor, but she recalled seeing the beast vanish before her eyes as she closed them. What she didn't know was that she had defeated the beast, at least for now and the school halls had gone back to normal.

Evelyn waited for as long as she could, but when Freya didn’t come through, she knew she had to expect the worse. But instead of think about it she shut the thought out, she completely closed herself off to even allowing herself to think what had happened. Instead she turned away and ran quickly down the tunnel until she reached the other end, pulled the lever and…another door opened and she could smell crisp air. She walked out and almost felt overwhelmed to see the outside of the school and hear the sounds of the festival towards the front of the school. But she didn’t allow herself to take her freedom in, there was no time, she had to go find her guard’s and warn them what had happened. Any other day of the year her town and bloody dress would have sounded alarm to anyone who saw it but luckily, tonight was Halloween and no one paid her any mind.

She didn’t actually have to find her guard’s, the moment she got even close to the pumpkin festival they found her, but no surprise when her blood clung all over her and it’s smell could easily reach their sensitive noises. She shooed away their concerns and told them what was happening inside and where all the secret passages where on the outside of the school and where they lead inside, but most importantly they needed to get the people from the ball out and told them to feed whatever lie they needed, that the halls were flooded or a small fire or…she didn’t care, they just needed to get the people out of the great hall, our of the hallways, the demon put back away in its tomb…and whatever bodies cleaned up. Any more help they needed she told them to enlist, for she knew they would need it. Of course they insisted she go home immediately but she refused too, she would wait outside of the school and keep anyone from going inside. She wanted reports as soon as possible…she wanted to know what had happened to Freya.

Kristine had been lost in the halls of the school for several hours at the point when things just suddenly... turned back. She found herself overwhelmed with the small of blood, one was more intoxicating than the other was, and it drew the vampire down the hall where she spotted a blonde covered in blood. A slight gasp escaped the nurse as she hurried over and felt for a pulse but it was weak.

Even though the girl's body looked alarming, Kristine quickly picked the girl up and cradled her close. There was no telling if the halls would switch back to the maze so Kristine wanted to get out as quickly as possible. As she held the wounded blonde in her arms, she used her ability to heal her as much as she could, but there was so much to heal, Kristine just wasn't sure if she could get all the injuries fast enough.

It wasn't long before Kristine and the blood made it outside, and Kristine placed the blonde down on the grass to check for a pulse again. She had healed a lot of the injuries but not all of them, fine cat like scratches remained, and the clothes that the blonde was wearing, looked like they had gone through a shredder. "Come on, wake up." Kristine spoke to the unconscious female as she gave the woman a sternum rub, hoping it would wake her. Meanwhile her powers were still working on healing the internal injuries that the girl sustained. "What happened to you?" Kristine couldn't help but to wonder out loud as she tried hard to get any sign of life from the girl covered in blood.

Evelyn paced outside of the front entrance of the main building of the school, just hoping and praying that everyone inside would come out safely. As she waited she barked at people to get away that wanted to go inside or glared at passer byers that that commented how cool her Halloween costume looked. As she stood there waiting for any news she smelled the blood and quickly whipped around, looking surprised when she saw Kristine coming out of the building and started towards her, seeing she had someone in her arms “You found your way out?” Her voice got quieter as she realized who Kristine was holding and if her heart were still beating, it would have stopped “Freya” She whispered her name fearfully before bridging the remaining gap between them and kneeled down beside her.

She could hear the soft beat of her heart, but knew it wasn’t strong enough at this moment for her to survive. She felt such fear seize her that all she could do was stare down at Freya numbly as Kristine tried to heal her “Work harder!” She snarled at the other Vampire, fear and impatience and panic all mixing into just anger in her. She touched Freya’s face and leaned closer “Freya…wake up, please. Please, you must wake up” She murmured to her firmly but her heart didn’t sound any stronger and Evelyn felt her hands begin to tremble as the emotions overwhelmed her. How could she have been so stupid! To have pushed Evelyn inside the tunnel and not follow after! After she had specifically told her not to sacrifice herself for her and she did it anyway! She was an idiot! “Freya!” She said her name loudly in hopes of jolting the woman awake, though she gently touched her hair “You have to wake up!”

Kristine was frantically trying to heal the fallen blonde when she saw the dean approaching. If the night hadn't been unnerving enough now she had Evelyn there to see whether or not the nurse failed or not... so really no pressure. "No... the halls... they... they turned back to normal... and I found her like this." The nurse explained but her hands never left the woman as she tried to heal what all she could.

When the Dean yelled, Kristine jumped slightly, but was quick back to her job. It was not easy working under so much pressure, even the hellhound situation had seemed easier than this if only because Evelyn had not been there. "I'm trying but... but she... she should be dead. She's holding on for something." Kristine spoke but didn't finish the rest of her sentence as she looked to the dean. Clearly it wasn't a something, but a someone but Kristine would not say that outloud.

After several more painstaking minutes of working on the fae, Kristine pulled her hands away because there was nothing left she could do physically. She had healed as much as her powers would let her, it wasn't like she was a witch anymore she had limitation. "I'm... I'm sorry the... the rest is up to her." The nurse spoke, but didn't leave. Instead she looked down at her watch as her fingers took gentle hold of the fae's wrist and checked her pulse. "Keep talking to her... it might help." Kristine encouraged the woman, but the pulse was still very weak and Kristine knew that this could turn out horribly, horribly bad if the blood covered blood died, but it wasn't like Kristine had not done everything vampirically possible.

The halls had returned to normal? Then that meant…Freya had done it, she must have killed the demon. From what happened before with Victor she knew the demon would not stay dead, it was probably somewhere in the deep depths of the school regenerating itself but it would take several hours, plenty of time for everyone to be removed from the school and a witch brought in to find the creature and seal it away. When Kristine spoke she snapped out of her thoughts and frowned when she was told Freya was holding on for something, but should be dead. No…Freya shouldn’t be anything but alive and she would accept nothing else but that. She wanted to snarl and yell at Kristine to do more but she knew that she couldn’t, she did what she could and now all there was too wait.

She looked at Kristine with a very firm look “Ms. Kochanski, listen to me very closely. Freya cannot stay out here with too many eyes nearby, I need to take her to my home and I need you to stay here. My guards are inside following instructions I gave them. I know you will not want too, but I need you to go back inside and find one of my guard’s and tell them the demon is temporarily stunted. They need to find a witch well educated in demonology to come to the school, detect where the demon is hiding and seal it, preferably this time in an object and not inside the school. Once Freya is stabilized I will return here. Alright? Can you do that?” She asked, more like threw the weight on her shoulders unwillingly as she began to gently pick Freya up.

If pressure wasn't already heavy on the nurse vampire, it was about to get a whole lot worse. Kristine had anticipated some sort of snarling growl, or even a good verbal lashing for not being able to do more. She just tried to stay focused on the girl though, constantly monitoring her pulse and the occasional sternum rub to try and wake her, just trying to get signs of life outside a heartbeat. Now would have been a really nice time to know who those tears had belonged to, surely it could save this girl.

When Evelyn called her by her first name Kristine instantly looked up at the woman, and never in her three hundred years did she expect the words that came out next. Was... was the dean... dean putting her in charge? The vampire swallowed a bit roughly, because this was not something she had ever expected to have happen. "Ye...yes Dean Varrow, right away." The redhead was up on her feet quickly, as she felt the pressures of the world on her shoulders. If she messed any of this up then surely it would be not only her job but very well the meaning of her existence on this planet.

Before leaving though, Kristine placed a hand on the dean, healing her shoulder a bit more but not much. "I'm sorry I can't do more to help you or her, but I will make sure that what you have asked is done." Kristine spoke softly before turning and heading back towards the school. Before stepping in she closed her eyes for a moment and took in a deep breath and let it go. This was the most nerve wracking night of her life, and the dean of all people had given her orders that she could not fail at. Without anymore hesitation Kristine slipped back into the school, and began giving out orders as soon as she came across people.

Evelyn couldn’t believe out of all people in the damned school she was leaving such instructions to Kristine…she would have preferred anyone else, even Khalid, but Kristine is who she had and just hoped she didn’t mess up something so simple. Hopefully since the other Vampire feared her it would better guarantee that Kristine would not mess up…but who knew. When she touched her she flinched and looked up at her, ready to pull away until she realized she wasn’t giving comfort she was healing the rest of her terrible wound. “It’s fine, Kristine. Just go. Quickly” She told her curtly before scooping Freya in her arms and standing.

With Freya carefully in her arms she began to quickly head to her home, taking the back way of the school so no one would see her carrying a limp body…Halloween or not, she didn’t need those rumors ontop of all the ones that were going to surface about the ball. She made it to her home in record speed and hurried up the steps, using lightning speed to open the door and carry Freya inside and to her bedroom. There she gently laid her down and brushed her fingers over Freya’s cheek worriedly, gazing down at her “Come on, Freya…open your eyes. Something. Anything” She begged quietly, worried the woman had not stirred at all.

Freya had been holding onto something, if anything just to know that Evelyn had made it out alive. It was all the fae really had left but her body had ached so much and the injuries had been far more serious than the fae could have ever imagined. When one was pissed off, it was hard to properly judge how bad an injury or in her case injuries really were. It was no surprise that the fae had a faint heartbeat after everything that she had sustained but she was clinging to life and Kristine's healing had helped.

The fae didn't even know that she had been removed from the school or that the beast was gone, but something was getting to her. There was a voice in the distance that she could not quite make out but something in her head told her she needed to wake up. It was something she was trying to do but it was so hard when all her body wanted to do was sleep, but she had to wake up she had to know that Evelyn was safe.

Her internal struggle of what to do continued until she felt a soft touch upon her cheek. Why the this touch had been one to affect her Freya didn't know but it caused the girl to take in a deep breath as if someone had just performed CPR and she was coming back to life. While she wanted to move more, it was as if her body and mind still needed to become one again. "Evelyn." She spoke in a worried mumbled as she started to come to. She needed to know that the vampire had made it out safely.

As Evelyn gazed at Freya, she had a sudden memory long ago and she couldn’t explain why it had suddenly come to her but it played across her mind like an old record. She walked into Victor’s study, sighing to see the man sitting in his favorite chair with a drink in one hand, staring at the ceiling with a frown. “Are you thinking of the philosophical question if a ceiling is living or not?” She teased him as she came into the room, sitting in the chair adjacent to him with a smile. He looked to her and chuckled softly “No, no…thinking of love, actually” He told her and she raised a brow “Love? You? I wasn’t aware you even knew what it was”. He made a sound and drank more of his brandy “I know of it…do you?” He asked and she shook her head, glancing over as her cat entered the room and she smiled warmly and scooped her up “I know the love of my cat, seems to suit me just fine”. He gave the cat a knowing look then sighed “That is the problem with you and I, were very alike in that way…we refuse to allow feelings, thinking it will save us pain in the end, save us from the hardships and trials of a romance but…quite the opposite” His voice was distant and she gave him an odd look “Did you get in yet another fight with Arthur?”. The name made Victor frown deeply “No matter how shut off we make ourselves believe we are…we will still fall in love, someday, somehow….and then we will lose them” He continued as if she hadn’t spoken. His voice was so passionate…and so heartbreaking” And it is when we lose them, that the tragedy of truth will reveal .We find out we did in fact love them. And in the end, we do feel pain...pain that will never go away. And we spend the rest of our lives, our long, sad, mournful lives wondering why…why did we try so hard to cut ourselves off from feeling love, when we still felt it anyway and it still consumed us and made the pain even more inevitable. Why didn't we just allow ourselves to feel?”

Her eyes shot up when she heard Freya take in a breath and Evelyn leaned over her, touching her cheek again “Freya?” She questioned then heard her speak her name and felt relief flood her “Oh thank God…thank God. It’s alright, you killed the demon…everything is alright now. Your alright” She murmured reassuringly to her, gently stroking her hair. She suddenly found her vision to be blurry and she blinked, wondering what was going on. How peculiar for her vision to just…she raised a hand to her face and brushed under her eyes, moving her hand back to look at her finger and realized with shock what it was. Tears. She was crying…she hadn’t cried since her daughter passed away so long ago. She didn’t think her body knew how too anymore.

There was still a weight that felt like it was bearing down on the fae's chest but Freya knew it had been because of the fight. She had taken more than her fair share of hits in the fight and was surprised she didn't feel more pain as she was coming to. At that moment Freya didn't know how she had woken up, or why she wasn't in much pain but she didn't question it at that moment. All her mind cared about was if Evelyn was safe, and hearing the woman's voice, a slight smile crept over her lips just knowing the vampire had made it out.

The fae's eyes opened slightly, as she started to come to more, but her vision was still a little blurry. "You made it." She spoke, her voice was still barely above a whisper and she wasn't one hundred percent aware of the world around her. There was still a haze that filled her head as she slowly moved her hand up. She sort of felt like she was floating in a sense as her senses were coming back to life again. The fae's hand came to rest softly on the dean's face. "I'm glad you're safe....." the fae paused a moment to take in a breath, it still sorta hurt to breath but it was starting to feel better. "I don't know what I would have d.... done if he took you away ...fo...forever." She was still weak but she had needed to touch Evelyn if only to know that this wasn't some sick and twisted dream from the beast.

As her hand rested upon the dean's face, she felt a soft moisture touch it, and for a moment the fae's heart raced. She worried something horrible had gone wrong and forced her vision to clear some by blinking only to find herself in disbelief... was... was Evelyn crying?

She nodded “I am fine…thanks to you” In reality she really wanted to chew Freya out for her little stunt but this wasn’t the moment to do so. “The demon has been stopped for now. My guards are getting everyone out of the school, checking the damage done” There was strain in her voice because she feared how many were dead….and Freya had almost been part of the count. When Freya’s hand up up she frowned “Don’t push yourself” She told her but let Freya’s hand rest against her cheek instead of forcing it down because it surprisingly helped calm her from the mess she was beginning to feel like. She smiled softly at her, her words affecting her as much as they had at the ball but tried to move past it “Sshh, don’t. You need to rest. You have been healed quite a bit but not completely. You have far more to go” She didn’t want to hear Freya speaking this way because…she had been thinking the same thing about her and she didn’t like it. She didn’t know how to handle that.

“I need to return to the school to make sure things are running as smoothly as possible” She sighed heavily “But I want to make sure you’re alright first. Is there anything that is piercing in pain? Do you think you’ll be alright alone or should I have someone come to watch you?” She paused only a moment before frowning, a few tears still falling from her eyes “I should just have someone come and watch you. Yes, I’ll call someone. And you should get cleaned up, you probably feel uncomfortable with all this blood on you, I can do that before I leave. And something to help your healing process go better, I can have whoever I call for you retrieve something before they come and-“ She was talking so she could try and get rid of the panic in her and doubt that maybe Freya still wouldn’t make it.

Feeling the tears touch her fingers was strange to the fae, cause never once had Freya ever seen Evelyn cry. That included all those years she spent as a feline at the woman's side. Just the thought of Evelyn being that upset made Freya want to comfort her, but there was little she could do aside from gently running her thumb over the woman's cheek. "I'm going to.... be okay." She spoke, Freya wasn't going to give up now, besides she was awake and that was a good thing right?

Hearing the panic in Evelyn's voice, made Freya yearn to do something more then just lay there, but there wasn't much she could do at this point. She almost wanted to chuckle as Evelyn switched into this mode of needing to get things done, but just settled with a smile. The woman cared that was for sure, but there was no sense in pointing it out right now. "You think too much sometimes." Freya replied because the woman seemed to be trying to solve everything at once instead of just focusing on what was in front of her. Not that Freya was demanding the attention but she really thought that Evelyn just needed to take a moment and well... breathe.

Bringing her other hand up, she moved the one on Evelyn's cheek to the curve of the woman's neck, and her other hand went there as well. "I'm not going anywhere.... I didn't fight to get back to you just to die." She spoke softly, no way was she going to let that beast have what he wanted she was far too stubborn for that. "So you can stop worry... and just kiss me." The fae spoke with a soft chuckle, because she doubted that Evelyn would do either one, but a banged up fae could try right?
